Nowon sushi buffet Sunday walk-in with Toss PayFace discount: Kuu Kuu

Kuu Kuu.. such an unforgettable sushi place. It seems to keep renovating and expanding its menu, so I went back for the first time in a while.✌

It happened that Kuu Kuu was running a discount that day too, so I grabbed that and went full-on feast mode, haha. Here's my review of this satisfying Hagye Station favorite, Kuu Kuu!

Where is Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, and is there a wait on Sunday afternoon?

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is located at 247 Nowon-ro, Nowon-gu, Seoul, on the 6th floor of Seoul Oncheon. Business hours are 11:00–21:30 on weekdays and 11:00–22:00 on weekends.

• 🚶 Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is about a 10-minute walk from Hagye Station Exit 2.
• 🅿️ You can use the Seoul Oncheon parking lot — 2 hours free, then ₩4,000 per additional 30 minutes. On weekends the lot can get crowded since the building sees a lot of foot traffic.
• 🕖 I visited on a Sunday at 2pm and since it was the weekend, it was really packed. Still, the place is so spacious that we got in without any wait.

Inside Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch: a 200-seat hall and rooms for 60

The place is really huge!

As a Hagye Station favorite, Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is a large space with plenty of seating and room for group dining. The main hall holds up to 200 and the private rooms up to 60, so it seemed like a solid choice for a Nowon family gathering restaurant or group meals.

When I visited that Sunday afternoon it was really crowded, but because the place is so big, it didn't feel cramped at all. There were a lot of families too, and the seats had plenty of space between them, so it seemed great for dining with parents or kids.

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch prices: lunch, dinner and weekends

Weekday lunch is ₩27,900 / weekday dinner ₩31,900 / weekend and holiday ₩35,900. For elementary schoolers, weekday lunch is ₩16,900, weekday dinner ₩17,900, weekend/holiday ₩18,900, and preschoolers are ₩9,900. Weekday lunch applies before 5pm, and the lunch rate is determined based on your checkout time.

They also sell alcohol, so you can enjoy beer, soju, sake, and wine alongside your meal.

How to get 5,000 won off with Toss PayFace

Now let me tell you about the discount I was most excited about this time!🧐

Kuu Kuu is currently running a ₩5,000 discount event together with Toss PayFace. The period runs from September 11 to September 30! You get the discount by paying with a Toss PayFace account or money balance, and of course I made good use of it on this visit haha.

Another great discount is the weekday lunch! Comparing weekday lunch at ₩27,900 to weekend/holiday at ₩35,900, that's an ₩8,000 difference. If your schedule allows, going for weekday lunch is a pretty solid move.

What's on the menu at this Nowon sushi buffet?

When you think of Kuu Kuu, sushi comes to mind first, but once you're there, the variety is huge!

From sushi and California rolls to salads, pizza, BBQ, noodles, fried dishes, and all kinds of seafood — it's all there. There was salmon sushi, raw salmon sushi, raw shrimp sushi, seasoned shrimp sushi, flounder sushi, and more.🍣

This time I also got to see the new raw salmon sashimi menu. Beyond sushi, there were fresh items like smoked salmon, tuna, soy-marinated crab, boiled octopus, and shrimp, so it was fun to pick and choose.✌🏻

The drinks were varied too. Ube latte, plum juice, lychee juice, raspberry slushie, gold kiwi slushie, herbal tea, and more — great to drink after the meal. And the dessert lineup was perfect too..🍦

Eating through the buffet: sushi, oysters and LA galbi

Since I was at Kuu Kuu, I started with salmon sushi and shrimp sushi first. Delicious as always.. that's probably why it's been loved for so long haha.

After a few pieces of sushi, seafood's turn! I got oysters and crab too. I neatly cracked the crab legs and picked out every bit of meat.

Stuff like this is a hassle but you still end up eating it diligently haha. And I decided today was officially a feast day. I also got some pizza and meat.

The meat here was actually really good. I don't usually expect much from buffet meat, but this wasn't tough at all — it was tender, and the seasoning was just right.

After eating sushi, one bite of LA galbi and I was craving meat again. If you love meat, don't just stick to sushi — try a bit of everything.

Then I had lemon cream shrimp and guobaorou (Chinese sweet and sour pork). The lemon cream shrimp had a creamy sauce that was nice to break things up with, and the guobaorou was good to grab a piece of whenever I wanted something crispy.

Switching between different dishes instead of just eating sushi nonstop definitely kept things from getting boring, and I kept going back for more. So if you want to eat a wide variety in one sitting, a buffet like this could be a good Hagye Station option.

And of course, dessert to finish! I wrapped up with bead ice cream and fruit. Usually a scoop of bead ice cream alone costs ₩3,000–4,000, but here it's unlimited refills, which felt amazing ㅠㅠ

My stomach already felt like it was about to burst, but you know dessert always finds room, right? Dessert stomach is a separate stomach, haha.

Verdict: is Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch worth it for a family meal?

Visiting again after a while, Kuu Kuu was, as expected, not just a sushi place but somewhere with the fun of picking and choosing all kinds of dishes. From sushi to seafood, meat, pizza, and dessert, the variety at Kuu Kuu keeps growing by the day.

Especially since the space is large and group dining is possible, it seemed like a solid option for anyone looking for a Nowon family gathering restaurant. On a day when I want to eat a bit of everything, I'll be heading back to this Hagye Station favorite, Kuu Kuu, haha.
