Hero Board Game Cafe Nowon Branch is really close — about a 1-minute walk from Exit 9 of Nowon Station 👍 When you're moving around with kids, a short walking distance matters more than you'd think, right? You know how it is.

Games catch your eye right from the entrance, so the kids were busy looking around everywhere the moment we walked in. Being able to spend a few comfortable hours indoors without wandering around in the heat made this a great indoor date spot in Nowon.

How much does entry cost?

There were two groups ahead of me, so I waited about 5 minutes before getting checked in. Apparently weekdays are unlimited for ₩5,000! The day I visited happened to be a public holiday, so darn — we got in at ₩3,000 for 1 hour ❤️

At first I thought a board game café would just have board games, but there was more to enjoy than I expected. Of course there was every board game you could think of 👍 👍

You can order through the kiosk, and one drink per person is required, so make sure to order! I got an iced americano, the kids got peach iced tea and Pororo milk-flavored drink, and we ordered popcorn as a snack ❤️

Besides games, there's plenty to eat too — drinks, tteokbokki (spicy stir-fried rice cakes), hot dogs — making this a solid indoor date spot in Nowon. I heard the patbingsu (red bean shaved ice) is especially good and can even be packed to go! I'll definitely have to try it next time ❤️

Uniquely, you can even get board game recommendations through the kiosk. What my eldest got recommended through the MBTI test was...

Jenga, haha. Maybe that's why my kid got even more into it and found it interesting — we totally lost track of time, playing like a true Nowon fun-time champion!

There were quite a lot of options, from simple games to ones you can play with a bigger group, so it was fun for the kids to pick out games among themselves too. Since each board game has a different difficulty level, letting the kids choose based on their age and taste seemed to make things even more fun~^^

Snacking on our drinks and popcorn while playing made everything even more fun — maybe it's just me 😂 Especially the honey butter popcorn... you've got to try it 🍿 🍿

It's also nice that you can get explanations for harder games through the kiosk!

I meant to play just one round and leave, but the kids kept picking the next game and time flew by ~ We nearly ran late for dinner plans 🥲🥲 Being able to cover so many types of fun in one space made me think this is a pretty practical spot for anyone looking for an indoor date place in Nowon!
