Songdo noodle spot: ₩12,000 big-bowl chicken kalguksu, Eonyang
In short
Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch is a Korean chain restaurant specializing in chicken kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) and dak-gomtang (clear chicken soup) on Haedoji-ro in Songdo Zone 1, Yeonsu, Incheon. The writer ordered an extra-large chicken kalguksu (12,000 won) for noodle-loving Bbangttong-i and a dak-gomtang (11,000 won) for Bbangttong-i's broth-loving dad, and was happy with the big bowls holding half a chicken and the spicy fresh geotjeori kimchi. Eonyang Dak Kalguksu is a Songdo spot worth returning to for a restorative summer meal.

Eonyang Dak Kalguksu (언양닭칼국수) in Songdo, Incheon

Sink into rich chicken broth · springy, chewy aged noodles · a spicy kimchi spot that pairs perfectly with kalguksu
I visited Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch, famous for its rich broth, aged noodles and spicy fresh kimchi!
What do the exterior and atmosphere of Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch look like?
Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch is on the ground floor of a building on Haedoji-ro in Songdo, and a big menu board out front lets you pick your order before you walk in. Here's the exterior!

There's a huge menu board right out front, so I gave it a quick look and headed in, haha.

It's a chain, but this wooden sign is so serious and solemn, lol.

The inside is clean and bright! It's very spacious and comfortable, so it works fine for groups too.
Window seats in Songdo for eating alone

There are solo seats along the window, and it's a really nice spot to come alone and eat. I actually saw people come by themselves and quickly eat and leave!!! Haha. Because it's by the window you don't feel left out, and you can enjoy your own meal time. I approve of this space!

Big photos of the main dishes hang on the wall, and they look so appetizing!
What's on the menu at Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch?

Here's the menu! The signature items are chicken kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup), dak-gomtang (chicken soup) and Eonyang-style kalguksu. For sides there are chewy dumplings, and for dishes there's spicy braised chicken, soy-braised chicken and suyuk (boiled pork slices). The prices are good, so it's easy to try a bit of everything!
How spicy is the self-bar kimchi?

The self-bar has spicy kimchi, less-spicy kimchi and pickled radish! The self-bar was kept tidy, too.

Every table has extra plates, paper cups, salt and pepper!
The basic sides are the spicy kimchi, the less-spicy kimchi and thinly sliced pickled radish! Pickled radish really does taste better sliced this thin.

The less-spicy kimchi. Even though it's the less-spicy one, it was still pretty hot, haha.
Pickled radish, the friend you need among all the spicy kimchi. It goes perfectly with the dumplings too!
The spicy kimchi! You can tell just by looking that the seasoning is hot, lol. Sweat incoming.

If you can't handle spice, the spicy kimchi might be a bit tough, haha. But spice lovers will absolutely love this flavor!
Why do the aged noodles take 15 minutes?
The kalguksu noodles at Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch are aged noodles, so they take 15 minutes to boil. They're not ordinary noodles, so they need that time to cook up delicious!

How big is the extra-large chicken kalguksu at ₩12,000?
The extra-large chicken kalguksu at Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch is ₩12,000, and you just add ₩1,000 to upgrade to extra-large. For my noodle-loving little one, I got the chicken kalguksu extra-large! For my husband, who likes broth more than noodles, the dak-gomtang (₩11,000)!
Wow, but the extra-large chicken kalguksu bowl is this biiig!! It's huge!!! Hahahaha.

It comes with a generous half chicken! And plump aged noodles. The bowl is big, so there are loads of noodles in it!

Eaten with the fresh kimchi, it's absolutely de-li-cious!!!!!
How is the dak-gomtang broth different from the chicken kalguksu?
The dak-gomtang (₩11,000) at Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch is for broth lovers, and the broth is much clearer than the chicken kalguksu's.

The gomtang also has a pale, pretty half chicken. It's summer, but one sip of this steaming broth loosened my stomach and warmed my whole body! It's a stamina dish through and through.

Add rice to the broth, top it with a piece of fresh kimchi, and it's game over.
Does Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch do takeout?
Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch offers takeout, and there's a separate takeout notice posted in the restaurant.

I polished off a proper meal, and the takeout notice made me feel the thoughtful service. I appreciate that they set it up so customers can choose! I can't forget the taste of this Incheon Songdo restaurant, Eonyang Dak Kalguksu, so I'll probably be back~
A stamina boost you really need in sweaty summer!! I recommend Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch!
