Songdo salt bread café with a free bun for a Naver review: Cozy Bear
In short
Cafe Cozy Bear (코지베어) is a salt bread bakery café on the first floor of Charis Plaza in the Songdo academy district of Yeonsu, Incheon. The writer compared the plain salt bread (3,500 won), the ang-butter salt bread (red bean paste and butter) and the castella salt bread, and got one extra plain salt bread by joining a Naver review event. Cafe Cozy Bear is a good Songdo pick for a rich, buttery plain salt bread alongside sweet-and-salty dessert buns.

I visited Cozy Bear (코지베어), a bakery café in Songdo, Incheon, where you can get freshly baked salt bread (a buttery, salt-topped roll). I love salt bread, so I picked the plain one, the ang-butter (red bean and butter) one, and the castella (sponge cake) one. I also joined a Naver review event and got an extra plain bun! Here's my honest review, with prices and parking info.

Where is Cozy Bear Songdo Hagwonga Branch, and what are the hours?
The Songdo Hagwonga Branch is on the first floor of Charis Plaza at 160-19 Haedoji-ro, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, and it's open Tuesday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It's about a 30-second walk from the Songdo food mart, so it wasn't hard to find.
It's posted as closed on Mondays. The salt bread comes out of the oven twice a day, at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Only a set quantity is sold, so popular items can sell out early. Keep that in mind!

Is there parking at Cozy Bear? What's the atmosphere like?
Cozy Bear sits right in front of a public parking lot, so it's easy to find if you come by car.
I could park in front of the shop too.
The shop felt bright and clean overall. Natural light comes in through the big glass windows, and white chairs with wood tones made it feel cozy. It isn't a takeout-only place: there are tables at the back where you can sit and eat. It's a good size for coffee with a friend or a light dessert in Songdo.

Salt bread and coffee menu and prices at Cozy Bear
The display case had a range of salt breads, from plain to ang-butter and castella.

Plain salt bread is ₩3,500, and for coffee the posted prices were ₩3,800 for an Americano and ₩4,500 for a café latte.

The salt bread uses French fermented butter and Guérande sea salt.
I also noticed a sign saying they boil domestic red beans themselves.
You can choose your coffee beans too. The beans are described as roasted together with a national-team barista, so I got the impression they care about their coffee as well.

Plain, ang-butter and castella salt bread: how did they taste different?
This time I chose the plain salt bread, the ang-butter salt bread and the castella salt bread.
Plain salt bread
The plain salt bread had a nicely baked surface. One bite and I got that rich buttery flavor with a salty kick, so I kept reaching for more.

Ang-butter salt bread
The ang-butter salt bread had a different charm from the plain one. Sweet red bean and butter on salty bread is a sweet-and-salty combo that should suit anyone who loves that mix.

Castella salt bread
The castella salt bread was a little sweeter thanks to the castella crumbs on the outside. Eating it next to the plain one, I could really taste the difference. Buying all three and sharing by preference works well too.

Free salt bread with a Naver review at Cozy Bear
When I visited, Cozy Bear was running an event: write a Naver review, show it to the staff, and get one carefully baked plain salt bread free. I wrote my review and got an extra plain bun.
If you buy several salt breads, don't miss this kind of event. It may change depending on when you visit, though.

Is Cozy Bear, the Songdo bakery café, worth a visit?
I liked that Cozy Bear has a variety of salt breads and a place to sit and eat in the shop. Personally, I loved the buttery flavor of the plain one, and when you want something sweet, the ang-butter or castella versions look good too.
If you're looking for a café or bakery in Songdo, especially if you love salt bread, it's worth a stop. Next time I want to order coffee with my salt bread!
