Songdo, Pohang ocean-view restaurant: spicy Plan B chop steak, Plan A

Today I'm sharing a delicious spot I went to on a long-overdue date with my mom! It's Plan A Restaurant, a Songdo, Pohang favorite with a roomy, comfortable interior and a lovely ocean view :)

Plan A Restaurant hours and location

Plan A Restaurant is open from 11:45 to 21:00, with last order at 20:30. Break time is 15:15 - 17:00 Monday to Friday and 15:30 - 17:00 on weekends, and it is closed every Tuesday.

It's an ocean-view restaurant that has held its spot on the Songdo beachfront in Pohang since 2015, over 10 years now!!

The wide-open beach is right in front, and since the restaurant is on the 4th floor, you eat while looking out at a clear, refreshing sea!

Is parking easy at Plan A in Songdo, Pohang?

Parking is very easy too! There's a fairly big public parking lot right behind the building, and public parking also runs along the beach in front of it! Next to the public lot there's a community service center (haengjeong bokji center), and I heard you can use its parking lot as well :)

Is it crowded at weekday lunch?

Plan A is busy even on weekday afternoons, and at lunchtime a lot of the seats are reserved. Step inside and the blue sea greets you right away! I think it's because this is a famous place that's been in the same spot for so long :)

Also, an overpass recently opened that runs straight from Yeongildae Beach over to Songdo, so people living in Buk-gu can get here easily now, right!? Maybe that's why it was so full even though I went on a weekday afternoon, haha

Plan A Restaurant seating and atmosphere

The inside of Plan A is quite spacious, and along the big windows there are lots of tables in different sizes: group tables, 4-seaters, 2-seaters, haha. The wide spacing between tables is another thing that makes eating here comfortable!

They also have knee blankets and cushions, which makes it a great Songdo, Pohang restaurant for a date!

Chop steak Plan A vs. Plan B: what's the difference?

The most famous dish at Plan A Restaurant is the chop steak! It's split by amount of meat and by Plan A / Plan B: with A the meat comes tossed in the sauce, and with B the sauce comes separately :)

My mom and I like our food lightly seasoned, so we ordered the Plan B chop steak, where we could control how much sauce to use :)

Of course we ordered plenty of other things too, hahaha!! We went all in with shrimp rosé spaghetti, chicken salad and lemonade! The two of us cleaned every plate, that's how neat and tasty everything was :)

The spicy Plan B chop steak

First off, the meat in Plan A's chop steak is so tender! Mine was the spicy version, and even when you order Plan B, the spicy sauce comes lightly tossed on the meat, with the steak sauce served separately!

Because the meat is only mildly spicy, you never get tired of it, and the stir-fried bell pepper, onion and mushrooms add a crunchy, chewy texture. Delicious!! It also comes with salty Cajun fries, ketchup and a crisp salad all at once, so I could see why it's a steady seller at Plan A Restaurant!

Shrimp rosé pasta with three king prawns

The shrimp rosé pasta at Plan A was packed with a generous amount of thick, rich sauce, and it had three plump king prawns, so good! I scraped up every last bit of sauce on this one too!

The noodles were cooked just right and didn't break, and maybe because they use a slightly thinner noodle, the sauce soaked in between the strands. It was honestly so delicious :)

Bite-size chicken salad

The chicken salad at Plan A has thick, hearty chicken on top, and underneath are various crunchy vegetables cut into bite-size pieces! When salad pieces are too big it's hard to eat them prettily, so I thought the bite-size cut was clever, lol!!

There was also tomato, great as a palate cleanser to finish the meal, so it was a really good dish!!

The ingredients displayed around the restaurant had a nice look to them and were fun to browse, and the easy parking was a plus. That was Plan A, a Songdo, Pohang favorite and an ocean-view restaurant great for dates :)
