Seogwipo café with sea views and rice desserts: Forest Jeongbang

In short

Forest Jeongbang is a two-story café near Jeongbang Waterfall in Seogwipo, Jeju, with sea views through second-floor picture windows. I had an Americano, strawberry jumulleok, chocolate madeleines, and a tangerine whipped-cream cake; the desserts were not rich, and the generously spaced seating made it a comfortable stop.

During my trip to Jeju, I visited Forest Jeongbang (포레스트 정방) near Jeongbang Waterfall. I had coffee and rice desserts while looking out at the Seogwipo sea from a second-floor window seat, and the generously spaced seating made it an easy place to pause and rest.

Is it easy to add to a Jeongbang Waterfall itinerary?

It is close to Jeongbang Waterfall and not far from Olle Market, so it was easy to include in my travel route. The address is 9 Chilsimni-ro 214beon-gil, Seogwipo-si, Jeju, South Korea, and the café occupies the first and second floors. The original post lists its hours as 09:00–19:00.

There was ample parking directly in front of the café. It was also convenient to stop by during a Jeju trip with a rental car.

Are there seats for groups?

The first floor had plenty of space between seats, making it comfortable to stay for a while. There were also tables for larger groups, which I thought would work well for families or people traveling together. Even when other people were there, it felt relatively easy to have a conversation.

Where can you sit and relax with a sea view?

From the second floor, the Seogwipo sea filled the view beyond the picture windows. The seating was generously arranged, and I sat by the window, drank coffee, and took in the scenery. It felt like a chance to slow down and rest during the trip.

What drinks and desserts can you choose?

I ordered at the kiosk. It was easy to take my time looking through the menu before choosing. Along with coffee, there were teas, smoothies, and fruit juices; we chose an Americano and strawberry jumulleok (a strawberry drink).

The dessert selection included whipped-cream cakes, madeleines, and sandwiches. I was especially interested to see that the cakes and madeleines were made with rice. We ordered chocolate madeleines and a tangerine whipped-cream cake.

How were the strawberry jumulleok and rice desserts?

I chose the Americano for its clean taste, which went well with the desserts. The chocolate madeleines and tangerine whipped-cream cake were not rich and paired well with the coffee. The tangerine cake also gave me a sense of being in Jeju.

The strawberries in the strawberry jumulleok were sweet and refreshing. It did not feel heavy or rich, so it was easy to enjoy lightly, and its freshness seemed to cleanse the palate.

What stayed with me most from this visit were the window seats overlooking the sea and the generous space between tables. It suited a break for coffee and dessert after looking around Jeongbang Waterfall or Olle Market.
