What's on the Kkalkkali menu, and how much?
Kkalkkali Jokbal, a jokbal restaurant near Bucheon Station, uses only domestic pork trotters boiled fresh every day — everything from chewy fried jokbal to garlic jokbal and spicy jokbal.

You can order from a wide range of single dishes and set menus. The pricing isn't bad either, from ₩34,000 for a basic small to ₩47,000 for a special size.
And true to a jokbal restaurant near Bucheon Station, there's an unusual side dish called 'fruit makguksu'!! There are also flying fish roe rice balls and soybean-paste rice, plenty of dishes that pair perfectly with jokbal.
We debated what to eat, but jokbal has to be original!!! We figured if the basic original tastes good, everything else will too, so we decided to order the original. First, a little preview video of the jokbal!!

QR ordering and the review event
After reading through the menu carefully, we ordered right at the table with a QR code, which was super convenient.
And if you write a Naver review plus set up notifications (on orders over ₩50,000), you get a free drink! No reason not to join in on that.
Side dishes and the roe rice balls
We ordered the original jokbal medium, and since the makguksu came free, we added the rice balls too, and then...

...the side dishes were set right away like this. Starting with a refreshingly cool bean sprout soup.

Sweet-and-sour pickled onion and pickled radish, freshly washed lettuce, perilla leaves, garlic, and chili all came out clean, along with a healthy chive salad to cut through the richness of the jokbal.

Then the rice balls arrived right away 😁 I was going to skip the rice since it's carbs, but I couldn't pass on the rice balls.

Warm white rice mixed gently with seaweed flakes, flying fish roe, and finely diced pickled radish, rolled up into neat little rice balls!!

I was planning to save it for when the jokbal came out, but it looked so mouthwatering that in my rush I grabbed it with the same hand I'd used to toss the makguksu (lol).

I popped it right into my mouth. Not too salty, nutty and delicious.
The free fruit makguksu
And then Kkalkkali's specialty as a jokbal restaurant near Bucheon Station arrived — the fruit makguksu.

Fresh-looking perilla leaves, cucumber, cabbage, and carrot piled generously with fruit sauce, looking absolutely delicious.

They gave us plastic gloves instead of chopsticks, so I mixed it up thoroughly by hand.

Ah, truly mouthwatering visuals. I want to eat it again. I just swallowed my saliva.
Original jokbal medium: nutty with no gamey smell
The long-awaited highlight, the original Kkalkkali jokbal.

Tender and full of collagen.... the fat had been rendered out so it wasn't too greasy at all.

I don't know how they boil it, but there was no smell whatsoever. The jokbal got nuttier the more we ate. We wondered if the two of us could finish it all, but...

...wrapped in lettuce, dipped in salted seafood, lightly topped with soybean paste, and eaten plain to enjoy the jokbal's natural flavor...

...we polished off the jokbal medium in no time. Thanks to this collagen bomb of jokbal, which I hadn't had in a while, we had a filling weekend evening.
A dining room with a TV, great for game-day gatherings
If you're looking for a jokbal restaurant near Bucheon Station, I'd recommend Kkalkkali 😁 It was too crowded for me to get a proper shot of the interior, but there's a TV inside the restaurant, and quite a few people were watching baseball.

On days with soccer or baseball games, this place seems perfect for a group gathering.
