Monjayaki lunch in Songdo, Incheon: kote-scraped set for two at Jojo
In short
Jojo Triple Street Branch (죠죠 트리플스트리트점) is an Osaka-style teppanyaki restaurant in Triple Street Building C in Songdo, Yeonsu, Incheon. On a lunch revisit, the monjayaki set for two (₩39,500) brought cod roe monjayaki, karai yakisoba and waterfall potato. Staff cooked the monjayaki on the table griddle, and scraping it up with a small kote spatula brought back the taste of monjayaki eaten in Japan. Jojo Triple Street Branch is worth a visit when a monjayaki craving hits in Incheon, and it looks promising for beer snacks too.

This is my honest review of Jojo Triple Street Branch (죠죠 트리플스트리트점), a Songdo Triple Street restaurant known as a go-to for monjayaki (a runny Tokyo-style griddle pancake) and yakisoba (stir-fried noodles) in Songdo.

How do parking and waiting work at Jojo in Songdo?
Use the underground car park of Triple Street Building C. You get 5 hours of free parking on weekdays and weekends alike (no parking registration needed).
Know the trait of every popular restaurant? There's a Catchtable (Korean waitlist app) kiosk at the entrance! Jojo Triple Street Branch is popular too, so at busy times like lunch and dinner there can be a wait. If there is one, sign up for the waitlist first.

Jojo Triple Street Branch menu
The menu has discounted set menus such as the Jojo Signature set for two, Signature for three, Monjayaki for two and Rice for two, plus okonomiyaki, yakisoba, monjayaki, rice dishes, house specialties, beer, highballs, soju and soft drinks. It's easy to order to suit your group size and taste 😀

When you order, Jojo gives you a paper to write a nickname on, as in the photo above. That nickname gets stuck into your dish when it arrives, so write something cute~~ The mini flag on top of the finished dish was a small bit of fun 💙

Inside Jojo Triple Street Branch: interior and seating
Inside, there's a long bar-style counter (dacchi) right in front of the open kitchen, plus hall tables for two or four! I wanted to photograph the interior properly, but there were sooo many customers that this is all I could get.. There are plenty of tables, and the wood-tone interior felt clean and cozy 😀
Staff flip okonomiyaki and stir-fry yakisoba on a huge griddle. The kitchen is open, so I could trust what I was eating, and watching the flashy cooking from the table was fun too~💙
There are also high chairs in the restaurant, so keep that in mind if you're visiting with a baby 🙏

Review event, side dish and table sauces at Jojo
When I visited, Jojo was running a receipt review event: leave a review and you get a drink. If you enjoyed your meal, leave a review and get your free drink!!
The side dish is chili and radish pickles, which cut the richness nicely and tasted great!
Every table has mayonnaise, Jojo special sauce and fire sauce, so drizzle to your taste ✨🙏 The Jojo special sauce tasted like teriyaki sauce, and the fire sauce was similar to Buldak (spicy chicken) sauce, so it was tasty 💚
The water isn't plain either: it's bottled water with a barley tea flavor, which made it even nicer haha

Does every table at Jojo have its own griddle?
Every table except the kitchen counter has a personal griddle, so dishes cooked on the big kitchen griddle can sit on your table and stay warm through the whole meal! Temperature really matters for teppanyaki, and I could eat it warm to the end. Being able to eat monjayaki right at the table made it even better haha

What's in the monjayaki set for two (₩39,500) and the kote
This time I ordered the monjayaki set for two (₩39,500): cod roe monjayaki + karai yakisoba + waterfall potato. I was going to order the Signature set for two, but I'd had the Signature last time, so monjayaki for two it was!!!
When you order monjayaki, you get a small, cute metal spatula!! It's called a kote, and seeing it again in Korea after seeing it in Japan felt so nostalgic~ Scraping it up with the kote is the fun and charm of monjayaki, so I definitely recommend scraping it up with the kote!!!!
What does Jojo's waterfall potato taste like?
True to its name, the waterfall potato (폭포테이토) is a salad with toppings cascading like a waterfall over potato salad. Finely mashed, smooth potato is topped with boiled egg, garlic flakes, whole-grain mustard and pepper. Cool and soft, it was a great palate-cleansing appetizer before okonomiyaki, yakisoba or monjayaki~ It's mild rather than punchy, so it also pairs well with a highball or beer.

Soft potato, corn, egg and garlic flakes! It isn't just soft: you get crispy flakes and popping corn kernels too, which made it even tastier!
Potato salad put on the griddle,, haha. It's good cold, but warmed on the griddle it's a treat of its own~ It felt a bit like eating a potato pancake!!

How is the cod roe monjayaki cooked at the table?
Jojo's cod roe monjayaki (my nickname flag was stuck in it) comes with cabbage, cod roe, bonito flakes, mochi and cheese. It looked just like what I ate in Japan, so I was excited before even eating~😀 It's my first monjayaki since Tokyo and Nagoya, so I was sooo looking forward to it, heh.. Hurry up and bring it!
Once the griddle heats up, a staff member oils it and cooks the monjayaki so it's ready to eat, so all you have to do is eat!! After mixing the batter well,

they put it on the griddle and cooked it up nicely~ Teppanyaki is fun to eat but also fun to watch, which makes it more satisfying~ Cook fast, my monjayaki💛

They finely chopped the cabbage, spread it wide on the griddle and added cheese, and the smell was really ..👍

With monjayaki you also get a timer, as in the photo above. The staff cook it until it's done, and when the timer they set goes off, that's when you dig in!
The thick, creamy monjayaki base, the popping cod roe with its salty flavor filling my mouth, and the nutty cheese all came together into a perfect beer snack✨ We visited at lunch so we didn't order beer, but I was thinking about beer the whole time,, this is definitely a beer snack!
There's no great monjayaki place in Incheon, so my boyfriend and I always said we wished a monjayaki specialist would open. Finding a good one in Songdo, close to home, made me so happy~ Monjayaki is a wonderful drinking snack, so if you want it with beer, definitely order monjayaki!!!

How spicy is Jojo's karai yakisoba?
Jojo's karai yakisoba (spicy yakisoba) is the sweet-salty basic yakisoba with added heat. It's not harshly spicy but the kind of tasty spicy Koreans like. It's not just hot: it has an addictive tang, so if you like spicy flavors, I recommend ordering it!!
The karai yakisoba felt like Japanese-style jajangmyeon (black bean noodles)! Springy noodles stir-fried on the griddle, crunchy cabbage, chewy meat, plump shrimp, a soft fried egg and tangy pickled red ginger~ If you're Korean, you can't help but love it😘
Even people who can't handle spice could probably enjoy it, and although the noodles are fairly thick, the sauce soaks in well, which made it even tastier~ Pop the yolk on top and mix it with the noodles and the flavor gets smoother and richer, so pop that yolk!! By the way, yakisoba gets more savory when eaten with cabbage and pickled ginger, so try them together~
Revisiting Jojo Triple Street Branch for monjayaki: final verdict
It had been a while, and Jojo Triple Street Branch was even tastier, which I was happy about! If you're shopping around Songhyeon or Triple Street and want good Japanese food, do visit Jojo Triple Street Branch💛
