Diamond painting sealer for lasting shine: Hasi 247ml

In short

Hasi Diamond Painting Coating Liquid is a glossy sealer for finished diamond paintings used at home in Korea. After applying it with the included silicone brush, the surface felt dry after 2 hours and the sparkle remained under a thin film. Verdict: a product I’d recommend for keeping finished pieces long-term.

A coating liquid I tried because dust gets between diamond painting beads

I usually love doing diamond paintings, but after finishing one, I always hate seeing dust get caught in the gaps between the beads... Before I know it, there’s dust sitting in those little spaces... So the product I’m introducing today is diamond painting coating liquid!

The finished diamond paintings I have at home are ones I gave my boyfriend, so I’m keeping them for the moment haha. I’m planning to coat those later too, but today I’m going to post about my own finished diamond painting haha.

247ml diamond painting coating liquid

This is Hasi diamond painting coating liquid. At 247ml, it’s a very generous size! It’s enough to keep using for a long time. It’s a product from a reliable company with various domestic and international technical certifications and registered trademarks.

Looking at the product page, it seems you can use it on things like cross-stitch too haha. I only do diamond paintings, haha, but if you’re not selling a cross-stitch piece and want to keep it forever, I think coating it for storage would be nice too haha.

Does it come with a silicone brush?

Honestly, I thought only the main product would arrive... and worried, “How am I supposed to apply this?” lol. But when I checked the package contents, it included a silicone brush! After using it, I wiped the brush once with a tissue and rinsed it with water as the instructions said haha.

It’s a water-based PVA product that meets strict standards, so it’s non-toxic and I wouldn’t worry about using it with children. It’s coating liquid that can be used on puzzles, photos, paper, and wood too, so I thought it could probably be used on inexpensive figures as well!

How to remove the safety cap before use

I thought I could just open the red lid and use it, but after taking it off completely, there was a safety cap inside that had to be removed. Once I removed the clear inner cap and twisted the cap at the top of the red lid, it was ready to use haha.

Applying it directly to a finished diamond painting

This is what it looked like before use. Can you see the slight dust in the gaps between the beads?

Swipe, swipe—it’s fun haha.

Applying coating liquid to a diamond painting

I felt like some kind of professional as I smoothly applied the coating liquid, and this was surprisingly fun too haha. Some of the coating liquid spilled a little toward the outside while I was applying it, but once it dried, it wasn’t noticeable at all. A thin coating film formed, which was the best!

While doing it, I wondered, “Is there not enough coating liquid?” so I squeezed out a generous amount. Then, oops, I wondered if I had poured too much, so I angled the silicone pad slightly and scraped it downward haha. I thought I’d applied it pretty carefully, lol, but there were spots I’d missed haha;;

I gave it a little scrape-scrape. If you look closely, you can see it dried well and every single bead is sparkling, right?? Haha. Oh, and they say to store any used liquid at room temperature away from direct sunlight, then shake it well before reuse so it performs just like it did at first!

Drying after 2 hours and the shine

After 2 hours, it had all dried??!! Even though it looked dry, though, it didn’t seem completely cured yet, so I think you need to be careful with it for around 24 hours haha.

I was a little worried, but even after it dried, the shine stayed, and I loved that the coating wasn’t thick. I had applied it generously and worried, “What if it creates a thick protective layer...?” But the light didn’t dull at all after applying the coating liquid, so it’s a product I really recommend! Haha.
