Charcoal cleansing balm for daily makeup removal: HEEDA
In short
HEEDA Jirisan Moist Charcoal Cleansing Balm is a Korean cleansing balm used for daily makeup removal and rolling over blackhead-prone areas. Its black sherbet texture melted at skin temperature and emulsified with a little water. Verdict: the melting balm felt easier than runny oil and left skin feeling hydrated after washing.

What are the texture and feel of HEEDA Cleansing Balm like?

I used it when summer oiliness and clogged pores were on my mind. It has a soft, blackish sherbet texture; when I scooped it out with the spatula and applied it to my skin, it melted quickly on contact with my body heat. I find the feel of oil running down my face a little burdensome, so the balm type felt more comfortable.

How did I wash off makeup and care for blackhead-prone areas?

I applied it to a dry face and rolled it over my skin for about 30 seconds. I massaged more carefully around areas such as my nose, where blackheads and pores concern me, then emulsified it until white with a small amount of water and rinsed with lukewarm water.

- Apply an appropriate amount to dry skin.
- Roll it over the face for about 30 seconds.
- Focus on rolling over areas with blackhead and pore concerns.
- Emulsify with a small amount of water, then wash with lukewarm water.

What did my skin feel like after washing?

Even deeper color makeup tended to come off in one wash, and afterward my skin seemed to retain moisture rather than feel tight. I was concerned about the irritation I usually felt with peel-off nose packs, and rolling with this melting balm texture was something I reached for more often.

When I focused on rolling over my nose, it felt as though excess oil had been cleared away, and I could sometimes feel tiny bits of sebum. Still, these changes and the feel are based on my own personal experience.

When was it convenient to use?

After using cleansing oils, milks, and gels, I found the balm type convenient for carrying and using. I used it when I wanted makeup removal and sebum and blackhead care in one step, and the included spatula also made it convenient to store.
