Kids’ UV400 sunglasses for sunny walks: Greg & Co Kids’ Sunglasses

In short

Greg & Co Kids’ Sunglasses are children’s sunglasses sold in Korea by Nordic Bebe. My 52-month-old chose the mint pair himself, and I kept them in our bag for walks in strong sunshine. Verdict: lightweight sunglasses my child actually reaches for.

They say they fit up to age 6!

Once this long, long monsoon season finally passes, they say summer will arrive late but fiercely, with scorching sunshine. It is hot, of course, but the sun is so glaring you can barely open your eyes. I was worried about my child’s eyes as much as my own, so I got a pair of sunglasses!

Nordic Bebe Greg & Co Sunglasses

Nordic Bebe officially imports and sells Greg & Co sunglasses, a Danish brand that captures that Nordic sensibility. They let my child wear a little Nordic style, and with their UV protection, they can help protect those eyes even on a heat-wave-warning day like today :)

UV-protective kids’ sunglasses

If you use Instagram, you may have seen children wearing these and bought a pair yourself. I often look for cute kids’ outfit ideas on Instagram too, and whenever I thought, “Oh, those are pretty sunglasses,” I kept seeing Greg & Co. The colors are lovely, and the design looked as though it would suit any child.

Looking through buyer reviews, Greg & Co kids’ sunglasses seemed to earn “120% satisfaction,” and they have been especially popular this year. Given the current situation, children wear sunglasses along with masks to fully block droplets when they go out. But with less fine dust in summer, the sunlight feels stronger too, so sunglasses really seem essential for protecting children’s eyes.

UV400 Lenses and a Lightweight Frame

Greg & Co kids’ sunglasses are made with UV400 lenses. They are said to protect our precious children’s eyes from 99.9% of ultraviolet rays. Just looking directly at sunlight may not be good for children’s eye health while they are still growing, so with UV protection and certified UV-blocking lenses, I find myself packing them in our bag whenever we head out these days—even if my child does not wear them for long!

Since these are kids’ sunglasses, weight matters too. When children wear heavy sunglasses, they can keep sliding down because their nose bridges are still developing. These frames are made from recycled plastic, so they are lightweight and fairly comfortable to wear.

My child especially only wants to wear things that make even me think, “Wow, that’s so light.” But when I reveal these with a ta-da~, my child takes them out and puts them on first. So cute, haha. The most important thing after buying something is that your child actually wears it, and I cannot help being touched that mine says they will put these on themselves :)

Mint Color and Sizing on a Five-Year-Old

Kids’ sunglasses that can protect my child on outings :) They are listed as fitting children from about 18 months through age 6. My child is 5, about 52 months old, with an average head circumference among peers, but a prominent forehead and back of the head.

The fit can vary depending on a child’s face shape, facial size, and head circumference, so I will share the size chart for reference. They measure 12.5 cm across the front, with 14 cm temples and 4 cm lens diameters.

The color my child is wearing is mint. All eight kids’ sunglasses colors are sophisticated, toned-down shades rather than vivid ones, so they were made to work well with children’s different skin tones.

After taking them off for a moment, my child looked for the sunglasses on their own because the sun was so strong. Yes, put them on quickly and protect those eyes!

A five-year-old who puts on sunglasses all by themselves :) I started having my child wear sunglasses from about age 3, which may be why they wear them so well. It is no secret that they sometimes covet Dad’s glasses too, haha.

While I was taking photos, there was a tiny heart pose too, haha. This child is so affectionate. Even the lady at our neighborhood stationery shop says my child has a very masculine-looking face but is so affectionate, so she gives them colored paper and dotes on them every time, haha.

To my eyes, my child is truly beautiful and precious. At home, I worry that all the time spent exposed to TV and smartphones will affect their eyesight, and outdoors I worry about ultraviolet rays affecting it too. Protecting those eyes with Greg & Co kids’ sunglasses gives me at least a little peace of mind!
