Peach cheesecake and egg tart, Gangnam coffee shop: Something About

In short

Something About Coffee is a large dessert café that fills all three floors of a building in an alley between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station in Seoul. On a visit with a friend, the order was peach cheesecake, egg tart, grapefruit ade and matcha cream cold brew, and the peach cheesecake paired dense, rich cheese with fresh peach for a dessert that suits summer. Apart from having no parking, Something About Coffee is a roomy place to sit and talk for hours.

I went looking for a café near Gangnam Station and found Something About Coffee! I heard it's a huge café spread across a whole three-story building with a ton of dessert options, so I was super excited even before going haha. The weather was nice too, so my friend and I had a relaxed café date after a while — the space is so big and there are so many seats, it was perfect for sitting comfortably and chatting 😊

Where Something About Coffee is, and can you park?

Something About Coffee occupies the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors of a building at 30 Gangnam-daero102-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Among cafés near Gangnam Station, this one really stands out for accessibility.

It's in an alley between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station, so it's about a 6-minute walk from either station. We came out of Exit 6 of Sinnonhyeon Station and walked over — since it's tucked slightly off the main road, it wasn't crowded and was easy to find. The one downside is there's no parking, so I'd recommend taking public transit!

Inside the three floors: atmosphere and interior

Something About Coffee has a clean white exterior that catches your eye from far away. Since it's a large café using the entire building from the 1st to 3rd floor, there are plenty of seats and lots of space, making it great whether you're going alone or with a group. Drinking coffee in the warm sunlight was seriously healing ☀️

The dessert display case had cakes and baked goods arranged so prettily, it was fun just picking what to get haha.

There were so many tempting cookies and baked goods!! My friend picked her favorite, the egg tart. There were also lots of drink options, so we each ordered one we liked.

Peach cheesecake: how does it taste?

This cake screams summer just from the look of it. There's so much refreshing peach piled on top of the cheesecake that it made my mouth water just looking at it. Taking a bite, the rich, dense cheesecake flavor combined with the peach's tartness so it wasn't heavy at all — I kept reaching for more. It wasn't too sweet and had a light, refreshing quality, making it the perfect thing to eat when you're worn out from the heat.

Egg tart

A classic egg tart, crispy outside and soft inside. The pastry layers were well-defined so the first crunchy bite felt satisfying, and the custard cream inside was thick yet spread smoothly — perfect when you're craving something sweet. Eating it alongside the cake, it became a sweet-and-sweet combo (not sweet-and-salty haha) that I couldn't stop eating.

Grapefruit ade

This one my friend ordered — a refreshing ade with real grapefruit pulp you can bite into. She said the fizzy carbonation popped crisply while the grapefruit's sweet-tart flavor paired perfectly with the desserts.

Matcha cream cold brew

A drink that's as pretty as it is tasty, with matcha cream layered on top of cold brew. The subtle bitterness of the matcha spreads gently and blends smoothly with the cream. Since it's cold brew, you definitely get that deep coffee aroma too — highly recommend it if you like bitter flavors.

Why Something About Coffee works as a Gangnam Station café

For anyone looking for a Gangnam Station café with both great atmosphere and dessert variety, I genuinely recommend Something About Coffee! Both the peach cheesecake and egg tart were well made and satisfying, and the grapefruit ade and matcha cream cold brew were both great options depending on what you're in the mood for. The spacious layout makes it perfect for dates or catching up with friends, so if you're ever near Gangnam or Sinnonhyeon Station, stop by!
