Uijeongbu beef BBQ, tray-served sides and 3-burner table: Supsok Oki
In short
Supsok Oki Jip Uijeongbu Station Main Branch is a forest-themed beef BBQ restaurant on the Seobu Station new-town side of Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi, right next to Kkangtong Dolgopchang. The writer ordered 2 servings of Emperor rib finger (hwangje neukgansal) at ₩16,000 per serving, added the ₩10,000 set for tripe hot pot (gopchang jeongol) and curry soup, and enjoyed tray-served side dishes and cream soup at a table with a center grill flanked by hot pot and curry burners. For a beef dinner near Uijeongbu Station that is set up differently from an ordinary BBQ place, the Supsok Oki Jip set menu is a good choice.

Uijeongbu Station's Supsok Oki Jip: add ₩10,000 and you get curry and tripe hot pot?

I went out for beef in Uijeongbu and found a place where you can have tripe hot pot and curry in the same meal.
This time it was Supsok Oki Jip (숲속 옥이집), on the Seobu Station new-town side of Uijeongbu. The name alone is unusual, and from the entrance to the inside it felt like walking into a forest. What really made me curious was that if you order meat and add ₩10,000, you can eat tripe hot pot and curry together, so I ordered the set too. Full review, let's go!

A forest-themed exterior near Seobu Station

Supsok Oki Jip is on the Seobu Station new-town side of Uijeongbu. It sits right next to Kkangtong Dolgopchang, so if you know the area, it shouldn't be hard to find.

The atmosphere at the entrance already felt different from an ordinary BBQ place. It's decorated with a forest concept, just like the name, so I got curious about the space inside.
Heading into the forest~ 🌳

Is Supsok Oki Jip good for group dinners?
Besides the 1st floor, Supsok Oki Jip has a 2nd-floor space too, so it looked fine for get-togethers with friends or larger groups. Once inside, the interior was as unusual as the exterior.
It's decorated to feel like you're in a forest, so it was fun to look around the space while eating.

There was a 2nd-floor space as well, with plenty of tables, so it looked good for visiting with friends or for a group gathering.

It's a good place to visit when you want to eat in a more unusual setting than a regular BBQ restaurant.
Emperor rib finger price and the ₩10,000 set
Supsok Oki Jip's signature Emperor rib finger (neukgansal, rib finger meat) is ₩16,000 per serving, and if you add ₩10,000 with your meat order, you also get tripe hot pot (gopchang jeongol) and curry soup. We chose 2 servings of Emperor rib finger plus the set add-on (tripe hot pot and curry soup).

While looking over the menu, I ordered the signature Emperor rib finger. It's said to be a cut with a stronger flavor than ordinary galbi-sal (rib meat). Another feature is that it's seasoned on the spot and served mixed with the marinade.
What caught my eye most here was that besides the meat, you can also enjoy tripe hot pot and curry. Add ₩10,000 and both come out, so how could I not be curious? I wanted to try Supsok Oki Jip's signature combination, so I ordered it together.
Tray-served side dishes and cream soup
The basic spread at Supsok Oki Jip comes on a tray with kimchi and side dishes, and a soy sauce for dipping the meat is provided too. Cream soup came out soon after.

After we ordered, the basic spread was set out, and it felt different that a BBQ restaurant also serves soup.
Grill and hot pot at once: the 3-burner table at Supsok Oki Jip
The tables at Supsok Oki Jip have a grill for the meat in the center, with spaces on both sides for boiling the hot pot and keeping the curry warm. So you can grill meat while enjoying hot pot and curry too.

The burners built into the table were unique. I was impressed that it's set up so you can eat everything warm even when lots of dishes come out.
How does the seasoned Emperor rib finger taste?
The Emperor rib finger comes out already mixed with the marinade, so it looked appetizing even while cooking on the grill. We started by grilling the main dish, the Emperor rib finger.

Grilled nicely and dipped in the soy sauce? Looking at the photo makes me want to eat it again 😭

If you want to try a cut a little different from the galbi-sal you usually eat, the Emperor rib finger is worth a look.
Is the ₩10,000 tripe hot pot and curry add-on worth it?
If you add ₩10,000 when ordering meat at Supsok Oki Jip, you can enjoy tripe hot pot and curry together. This set was the thing I was most curious about on this visit.

Unlike a regular meal of just beef, you can add a broth dish and curry, so the menu felt varied.

I especially liked being able to enjoy warm hot pot while eating the meat. On top of the unusual concept of having meat and soup together, you can also taste tripe hot pot and curry, so if it's your first visit, keep an eye on the set menu too❗️
For a different kind of beef BBQ dinner in Uijeongbu
Supsok Oki Jip was memorable for everything from the forest-like interior to the unique table setup and the varied menu. Centered on the Emperor rib finger, being able to enjoy tripe hot pot and curry too was its charm compared with a typical BBQ place.
It's a good place to visit when you want beef near Uijeongbu Station, or a meal that's a little different from usual. Highly recommended❗️
