Why we went to a manga café to watch baseball at One Play Jamsil Branch

One Play Jamsil Branch is a manga café near Sports Complex Station in Jamsil. I like reading manga and watching anime anyway, and these days manga cafés also have board games, OTT viewing, and even Nintendo.

So whenever my boyfriend and I have time to kill, or he suddenly has to work in the middle of a date, we often end up at a manga café. I quietly read manga next to him, or put in my AirPods and watch anime, and he works or plays along haha.

On the day we visited One Play Jamsil Branch, we had spare time and were wondering where to go. It happened to be the time of day when the baseball game we watch every day was on, so we said, "Let's go to a manga café, watch baseball and eat something good!" lol Peak P-type (spontaneous) date style 😂

How to enter One Play Jamsil Branch: shoe lockers on 2F, counter on 3F

One Play Jamsil Branch is on the 2nd floor of the building. You take your shoes off on the 2nd floor and pay at the counter on the 3rd floor.

When you come up to the 2nd floor, the shoe lockers are right there. Change into the slippers provided next to them, open a compartment with a key you like still in it, put your shoes inside, then take the key up to the 3rd floor where the counter is! Look how cute the shoes and keys are…

One Play Jamsil Branch weekday pricing: is ₩10,000 unlimited worth it?

If you plan to stay 3 hours or more on a weekday, One Play Jamsil Branch's weekday event "₩10,000 unlimited use" is the best deal. The counter has the price plans and a usage guide, and since we visited on a weekday and planned to stay about 3 hours, we picked ⭐️₩10,000 unlimited use⭐️ haha. What a bargain!!!!!

If you visit on a weekday and plan to stay 3 hours or more, definitely go for the ₩10,000 unlimited event haha

3rd-floor manga reading area and 2nd-floor OTT rooms at One Play Jamsil Branch

The 3rd floor of One Play Jamsil Branch has a quiet, spacious area with seats set aside for focusing on reading manga, and the 2nd floor has rooms where you can watch OTT. We came to watch baseball, so we went back down to the 2nd floor haha

Love that there's a charging zone right at the entrance 👍🏻

How do you choose an OTT room?

Each room at One Play Jamsil Branch has the available OTT services written on it, so you can just head to the room you want! We picked Room 32, which has Netflix and TVING haha

The room entrance is a thin see-through curtain, and when you go in there are long, soft cushions, blankets and a table haha. It's cozy and really nice haha

We got the baseball all set up, and my boyfriend opened his laptop on the table to work while watching with me lol

Restroom-door event: 1 free hour and an iced tea

When I went to the restroom at One Play Jamsil Branch, they were running this awesome event!! So both my boyfriend and I tried it, and I won 1 free hour while he won an iced tea or Americano.

Since we had already chosen unlimited use, we decided to save the 1-hour free coupon for next time and only swapped for the iced tea haha

How do you order food at One Play Jamsil Branch?

At One Play Jamsil Branch, you tag your phone on the NFC device and the order screen pops right up. I was so busy going nuts over the menu that I didn't screenshot my phone… ugh, I really should have shown you…

Seriously, there are way more menu items than you'd imagine. Korean snack-bar food, chicken, rice bowls, ramyeon and more, and each category seems to have 10 or more items, really 🤣 Being indecisive was so hard 😭

First order: tteokbokki, jjajang and Puringkle chicken set

For our first order we got the tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), jjajang (black bean sauce) and Puringkle chicken set. Amazing value, getting all of this at once 👍🏻 And it was all even tastier than expected. Honestly I should introduce this as a restaurant rather than a manga café;

After wolfing that down while watching baseball for over an hour, the piggy couple started looking at the menu again 😩

Second order: beef brisket bibim noodles and butter garlic fries

Isn't the whole point of going to a ballpark to eat?!!! (We're not watching at home, so imagine we're at the ballpark.) Our second picks, beef brisket bibim noodles (spicy mixed noodles) and butter garlic fries, got eaten up very thoroughly haha

Would we recommend One Play Jamsil Branch for an indoor date?

If you're looking for indoor things to do or an indoor date, like manga, anime, board games or Nintendo, give One Play Jamsil Branch a visit!! It's a place where both the playing and the eating are very satisfying haha. I couldn't tell whether we'd gone to a manga café or on a eating-show outing; it was a Jamsil manga café worth visiting for the food.
