Songdo Zone 1 soup spot for solo diners: 1-minute dak-gomtang, Eonyang
In short
Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch is a Korean chicken kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) and dak-gomtang (chicken soup) restaurant in front of the food mart in Songdo Zone 1, Yeonsu, Incheon, with a separate window-side zone for solo diners. Dining alone, the writer received the dak-gomtang, with a whole chicken leg and a bowl of rice, 1 minute after ordering, added galbi dumplings, and ate it with two kinds of house-made kimchi from the self-serve bar. Eonyang Dak Kalguksu is a good pick for a quick, filling bowl of soup on your own in Songdo.

A Songdo Zone 1 Korean restaurant I recommend for solo dining! I went to Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch (언양닭칼국수 인천송도점) for dak-gomtang (chicken soup)~
Where is Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch?
Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch is right in front of the Songdo food mart.

If you came by car, come up from the underground car park and follow the Eonyang Dak Kalguksu standing banner, and you'll get to the restaurant.

Is Eonyang Dak Kalguksu in Songdo good for eating alone?
The restaurant has a separate solo dining zone by the window, so it's easy to visit on your own without feeling awkward. There really were lots of solo diners, so you can eat in peace without worrying about anyone's glances.

The place is big, so even if you sit alone at a 4-person table, nobody minds, haha. They also have children's tableware and high chairs, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a Songdo Korean restaurant to go to with kids too!

What kimchi is at the Eonyang Dak Kalguksu self-serve bar?
The self-bar at Eonyang Dak Kalguksu has two kinds of kimchi made in-house. Not just the regular kimchi but spicy kimchi too, so you can pick whichever suits your taste. Love that!
The spicy kimchi is seriously spicy. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes hot, punchy Korean-style kimchi (silbi kimchi).

How fast does the dak-gomtang come out?
The dak-gomtang at Eonyang Dak Kalguksu came out almost 1 minute after I ordered, and I was so surprised haha. Chicken kalguksu needs time to boil the noodles, so you usually wait a bit, but at lunchtime or on days when you're too hungry to wait, the dak-gomtang sounds like a great choice!

My solo dak-gomtang set is complete. The dumplings here are seriously amazing, so I always get them on the side. Hehe

Salt + pepper mixed up, ready for dipping.

Is the dak-gomtang at Eonyang Dak Kalguksu filling?
The dak-gomtang has a whole chicken drumstick in it, and a bowl of rice comes mixed into the broth, so it looked like a hearty meal just from the sight of it. Loads of chicken, so it feels like a proper meal!

The hot dak-gomtang comes with a bowl of rice already in it, so the broth soaks nicely into the grains. One bowl alone is totally filling.

Put kimchi on top of the rice that has soaked up the moist broth, and the mild savoriness of the soup mixes with the spiciness of the kimchi. A whole bowl is gone in no time!

How do Eonyang Dak Kalguksu's galbi dumplings taste?
The dumplings here are galbi dumplings with a thin, chewy wrapper. The wrapper isn't thick, so the texture isn't heavy, and it goes well with the sweet, savory filling that galbi dumplings are known for. Eating them with thin pickled radish is just right.

Solo Korean meal in Songdo Zone 1: final verdict
Eonyang Dak Kalguksu in Songdo has a separate solo dining zone so you can eat comfortably, and I liked the two house-made kimchis and the fast-arriving dak-gomtang. The dak-gomtang especially, with a whole drumstick and a bowl of rice in it, is perfect as a filling meal! Add the chewy galbi dumplings and the meal gets even more satisfying ᵔᴥᵔ
A Songdo Zone 1 Korean restaurant I recommend for solo dining on days when the weather turns chilly and you want to fill up on hot broth!
