Did we really need a baby shower bath handle?

We've been using this for over a year now. Honestly... while raising our first child, this baby item felt a little unfamiliar, and um... I wondered whether we'd get by fine without it. Especially if you have a bathtub at home, lots of you may be thinking, “Bathing them in the tub is totally fine!” and wondering if you really need it.

Whether you bathe them in the tub, sink, balcony, wherever, I just... want you to buy one, even secondhand. Though now that I've said that ^^; unless it's brand-new in the box on Danggeun Market, I do hope you'll avoid buying used.

Because! It's a baby item that is constantly exposed to water and humidity. No matter how well you care for it, water stains can build up... and there could be mold in the gaps... For all sorts of reasons, new is best if possible... Oh, and standing models seem to get a little loose after long-term use. So a new one is all the more likely to be safer.

After using attachable and standing models

Over about two years now, I've used three in total: two brands of standing models and one attachable model. One of the standing models was kind of... wobbly whenever my child moved. It wasn't like that at first either; my son is in the top 1 percent for weight and is strong, so he moved around powerfully inside the baby bath handle, and the first one I used feels a little looser now.

The second one is still sturdy, so we're using it well. When you look at where it gets loose, it's around the pole. That is the most important part, but after using it for a long time and shaking it with force (because children never stay still;;;), it eventually feels like it bends? In that sense, I liked that the portable attachable model had less of that risk. It's more compact, simple, and lightweight, yet feels safe?

In the bathroom, safety and more safety

Bathrooms are... places where danger lurks no matter how careful you are... Personally... I find myself on high alert whenever I'm in the bathroom with my child. Even if you put down anti-slip protection, the toilet, sink, and tiles are all hard if they bump into them ㅠㅠ It would be awful if they hit their head or forehead... The word “fall” is scary every time I see it.

So I worried that a loosened standing model might break or bend. (An imagination-filled N-type personality...) If it breaks, hitting their head isn't even the issue: while a baby is in a shower bath handle with bare skin, what if broken plastic scratches their skin? Ugh... my mind goes blank.

He's 90 cm tall now, so it is time to adjust the height on the standing model we had been using. But... I thought that extending the height further would make it even wobblier than it is now. The pole section would become longer, after all.

When did we start and how long have we used it?

First of all, we... started using one at 7 months. During the newborn stage, we always gave him lying-down tub baths, and before 6 months we mostly bathed him lying down rather than showering him. But even before he had much leg strength, the baby shower bath handle was fine because it could support him under the armpits.

As for the usage period, he's currently 25 months old and we're still using it well. We used it just now, too... He's old enough to stand, run, and walk steadily, but I don't think you can ever be too protective in the bathroom, so I plan to keep using it.

Ways to use it beyond showering

Don't think you can only use this during showers! It is handy to stand them in it when changing pull-up diapers! For babies who won't stay still... it would also be convenient when changing clothes or putting on socks and shoes. Since it can be used in so many ways, it feels like the usable period is longer too.

My child's hygiene is important, so even if I don't wash every day... (?) no matter what happens... even if I'm so tired I feel like I could fall apart, my child gets one bath a day or two showers.
