Ichiryu Bucheon Hyundai Branch is a place I'd recommend if you're looking for a lamb rib restaurant with a good atmosphere near Bucheon City Hall Station. The address is 31 Seokcheon-ro 177beon-gil, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon, Gyeonggi, South Korea (1F, Unit 101). Hours are 17:00–23:00 on weekdays (Mon–Fri) and 12:30–23:00 on weekends (Sat–Sun). There's 2 hours of free parking in the building's underground garage, and you can book through Naver Reservation.

We booked for 5pm on a Thursday. The mood was cozy and private, and having the staff grill the meat for us made it even better 👍🏻

It's a good location if you want a date in Bucheon or a dinner somewhere with a nice mood ♡

Seating and atmosphere at Ichiryu Bucheon Hyundai Branch

I heard the 1st floor is bar seating mostly for two, which is great for couples, and the 2nd floor is mostly group seating for up to 12 people. The first things I noticed when I walked in were the soft lighting and the cozy atmosphere.

Every seat has its own grill, and the staff grill everything from the vegetables to the meat, so I could just focus on eating 😋

What I especially liked was the separate space for storing coats and bags! When you eat lamb, you sometimes worry the smell will cling to your clothes, so I appreciated this thoughtful touch 👍🏻

Should you make a reservation?

The restaurant doesn't have a lot of seats overall, and its private feel is part of the charm, so I recommend booking.

There was no wait when we visited, but I could imagine a line forming during peak dinner hours. If you plan to go, I recommend booking ahead!

What should two people order?

Ichiryu lets you choose lamb by cut, and for two people we went with the recommended combo: premium fresh lamb ribs and the top-grade French rack ✨

Ichiryu side dishes: scallion salad and the special sauce

Before the meat arrived, the table was set with beans, wasabi, pajeolim (seasoned scallion salad), gochujang-pickled peppers, white kimchi and a special sauce. It was a lineup that goes well with lamb 👍🏻

Personally, we really loved the scallion salad! The scallion aroma is deep, and it's a perfect match with the meat 👍🏻

Lamb can get a little rich if you keep eating it, but the spicy pickled peppers and refreshing white kimchi reset my palate, which I loved ♥

We were told to add 2–3 spoonfuls of chili powder to the special sauce. It was savory and went so well with the meat that we kept reaching for it 🫶🏻 I'd thought of these as just side dishes, but dipping into them one by one was fun!

How were the premium fresh lamb ribs (₩33,000)?

The premium fresh lamb ribs at Ichiryu Bucheon Hyundai Branch cost ₩33,000 and were really tender and juicy. When the lamb ribs I'd been waiting for finally arrived, even the raw meat caught my eye with its vivid color and thick cuts. You could tell the quality just by looking, and my expectations shot up! 😲

First the staff grilled assorted vegetables like mushrooms, onions and eggplant, and placed them at the front so we could eat them warm over the gentle heat. Then they grilled the fresh lamb ribs to just the right doneness, in batches matched to our eating pace, which I especially liked 🙆🏻‍♀️

One bite and it was full of juice, with no gamey lamb smell at all. I was really satisfied ☺️ I heard it uses fresh shoulder ribs from young lambs raised in Australia's pristine regions, giving tender meat and rich savoriness! 💁🏻‍♀️

Before putting the next cut on, they also grilled a generous amount of bean sprouts, which went nicely with the meat 👍🏻

How is the French rack (₩37,000) different from the fresh lamb ribs?

The French rack at Ichiryu Bucheon Hyundai Branch costs ₩37,000, and it felt a bit chewier than the fresh lamb ribs. I was excited because it's said to use 100% cap of rack for a tender, premium taste!

The two cuts each have their own charm, so alternating between them was fun, haha. If two people are visiting, I'd personally recommend the fresh lamb ribs plus French rack combo! You get both the tender texture and the chew, so there's a reason it's the recommended order 😉

And you know the meat closest to the bone is the best part of any rib, right!

I was also impressed that they wrapped the handle part of the bone in paper so we could comfortably eat the meat right off the bone 🫶🏻

Soup curry, limited to 7 bowls a day

While looking around, I learned that Ichiryu Bucheon Hyundai Branch also sells soup curry, limited to 7 bowls a day, and I was curious how it tastes. But two portions of lamb ribs left us so full..🥲 I'll definitely try it next time!

Terra draft beer and rice with the lamb

A 500cc Terra draft beer is ₩6,000. Of course lamb needs a cold beer! A bite of tender lamb rib followed by cold beer was the best combo 🍺

We also ordered steamed rice (₩2,000). The grains were nicely firm and good with the meat, haha. Mixing it with the seasoning sauce was a great combo too!

What to know before visiting Ichiryu Bucheon Hyundai Branch

I went after hearing it had been selected for the Michelin Guide for 8 years in a row, and having tried it myself, I was really satisfied not only with the taste of the meat but also with the grilling service and the atmosphere 🙆🏻‍♀️

• 👍🏻 Reservation recommended: There was no wait when we visited, but the seating isn't huge, so a line may form during peak dinner hours. If you want a relaxed meal, I recommend booking ahead!
• 🚘 Parking and public transport: You get 2 hours of free parking in the building's underground garage, and it's about a 5-minute walk from Exit 3 of Bucheon City Hall Station, so it's convenient by public transport too.
