Lamb rib restaurant in Bucheon from Wednesday Foodie Talk: Ichiryu
In short
Ichiryu Bucheon Hyundai Branch is a lamb grill restaurant near City Hall Station in Bucheon, Gyeonggi, featured in the lamb rib episode of the Korean TV show Wednesday Foodie Talk (수요미식회). At weekend opening time we ordered fresh lamb ribs (33,000 won) and a French rack (37,000 won), which staff grilled from start to finish, and ate the lamb with salt, wasabi, Japanese-style scallion salad and grilled bean sprouts. With no gamey smell and plenty of juice, Ichiryu Bucheon Hyundai Branch is easy to recommend even to first-time lamb eaters.

What we ordered: fresh lamb ribs and French rack

We ordered the lamb ribs and the French rack, the top-grade cut. One serving of each, and each comes with 2 pieces. Just look at the color, they look delicious!!!
Side dishes and sauces at Ichiryu Bucheon Hyundai Branch

The basic side dishes are mostly kimchi-style: white kimchi, Japanese-style scallion salad, pickled chili peppers and so on, all of which go well with lamb ribs.

Each person also gets a sauce. It's a soy garlic sauce, and it wasn't salty at all, the seasoning was just right!
Dip the lamb in the salt and you can enjoy the true flavor of the meat.

Every table has chili powder, so add it to your taste. I put in about one spoonful and it was perfect!
Wednesday Foodie Talk lamb rib spot, busy even at weekend opening

Ichiryu, the lamb rib restaurant near Bucheon City Hall Station, was also featured in the lamb episode of Wednesday Foodie Talk (Suyo Mishikhoe, a Korean TV show). We came right at weekend opening time, and still there were lots of reservations and the hall filled up fast!
Do staff grill the lamb at Ichiryu Bucheon Hyundai Branch?
Yes, the staff grill the lamb ribs deliciously from start to finish. All the ribs go onto the charcoal grill together, and that sizzling sound really gets your appetite going! Come on, lamb ribs, cook up nicely.^^

Having the ribs grilled for us from start to finish was definitely convenient. It's easy to chat, and I didn't have to worry about burning the meat, so I could just focus on eating!
Once the lamb ribs are fully cooked, the staff move them onto the charcoal grill again! So there's no need to worry about the meat getting cold, and you can eat slowly, which I loved.

How to eat Ichiryu lamb ribs: salt, wasabi and scallion salad
First bite: lamb ribs with salt
For the first lamb rib at Ichiryu, I dipped it in salt so I could taste the true flavor of the meat.
Wow, not a trace of gamey smell, nutty and juicy, the juices burst out. It was pure deliciousness. Even people trying lamb ribs for the first time will enjoy them here, no love-it-or-hate-it.

The charcoal fire is fairly strong too, so the meat stays gently warm the whole time.

Second bite: wasabi and Japanese-style scallion salad
For the second piece I tried the lamb with wasabi and Japanese-style scallion salad. The added seasoning makes it different from the salt version, it cuts the richness, and the texture of the scallion salad is really good too!

Bone pieces: wrapped in paper and dipped in sauce
The ribs still on the bone come wrapped in paper so they're easy to hold. Then you dip them in the sauce, and this is secretly a real treat too!

Finishing with French rack and grilled bean sprouts
They grill the second cut, the French rack, too. Rather than cooking everything you ordered at once, they stagger it so the meat keeps coming without a gap, which I liked.

At the end they also grill bean sprouts for you. Crunchy bean sprouts with lamb ribs is a tasty combo!

The fatty part of the French rack is grilled until crisp! Even though it's fat, it isn't mushy, it's tender and nutty, and really delicious.

The bean sprouts are seasoned with just salt and pepper, yet they're full of savory flavor and perfect with the lamb ribs.
Ichiryu Bucheon Hyundai Branch lives up to its Wednesday Foodie Talk lamb reputation, and it was a stuffed-to-bursting meal! Thanks for another delicious meal today. ♡ Yum yum
