Konkuk Univ. gopchang restaurant: 1++ hanu and window seats, Eunseong
In short
Eunseong Hanu Gopchang Geondae Station branch is a hanu (Korean beef) gopchang (grilled beef intestine) restaurant on the 2nd floor near Exit 5 of Konkuk Univ. Station in Gwangjin, Seoul. After booking a weekday dinner, the writer sat by the window and had the Eunseong mixed platter of gopchang, makchang, daechang, heart and brisket, plus sundubu stew and ramen to finish; the gopchang had no gamey smell and a rich, nutty filling. Eunseong Hanu Gopchang is an easy recommendation for hanu gopchang in a clean space near Konkuk Univ.

This is my visit to Eunseong Hanu Gopchang (은성한우곱창), a gopchang (beef intestine) specialist near Konkuk Univ. Station where you can try proper hanu (Korean beef) gopchang. There's so much to eat around Konkuk Univ., but when you're craving something rich and greasy, it's surprisingly hard to find a gopchang place with no gamey smell and good quality, right? This was a real treasure I stumbled on, so I'm hurrying to share it with you!
Where is Eunseong Hanu Gopchang Geondae Station branch?
Eunseong Hanu Gopchang Geondae Station branch is on the 2nd floor of a building close to Exit 5 of Konkuk Univ. Station. In front of the building entrance I spotted their huge event: all alcohol is 1+1. Isn't this the perfect place for anyone who loves a drink?!!

Shall we head in~
Eunseong Hanu Gopchang interior, atmosphere and window seats

When you think of gopchang places you might picture an old-school dive, but the inside here is really comfortable and clean.

Such a thoughtful touch: storage chairs where you can keep your belongings so the smell of grilled meat doesn't soak in! The space is big, so I think it would work well for company dinners and group get-togethers too!

We booked ahead for a weekday evening, and luckily a window seat was free, so we sat right down. The weather was nice and the windows were wide open, which felt airy and lovely, haha. Gopchang in a comfortable, outdoor-pub kind of atmosphere!!

The sign saying they use only domestic, top-grade (1++-style "tu-ppeul" 1st grade) hanu beef small intestine made me even more excited about Eunseong Hanu Gopchang!

The homemade green onion kimchi, made fresh in the shop every morning, can also be bought to take home.
Eunseong Hanu Gopchang menu and kiosk ordering

The menu is made up of solid, no-filler dishes, and you order on a kiosk. There are items you rarely see at a gopchang place: Cheongyang ramen, Buldak stir-fried noodles, and yeolmu malli guksu (young radish kimchi noodles)..? I wanted all three, but which one did I order? (guess away)

That 1+1 alcohol event I saw downstairs is such a rare thing these days.. We didn't drink this time, but I'm definitely coming back with friends soon!
Sundubu stew and side dishes served before the gopchang

At Eunseong Hanu Gopchang, the sundubu stew (soft tofu stew) and side dishes come out first, before the gopchang platter.

The side dishes were neatly arranged in clean white bowls, and they looked and tasted so good that my appetite kicked in, haha

The stew has half a block of soft tofu in it, and once it starts boiling a staff member cracks an egg right in. Even before the gopchang, I wanted to polish off this stew with a bowl of rice in no time, haha
How does the Eunseong mixed gopchang platter taste?

The Eunseong mixed platter (은성모둠) comes with gopchang (small intestine), makchang (abomasum), daechang (large intestine), yeomtong (heart) and brisket, plus vegetables and rice cakes that make it even better, all piled on one tray. Stir-frying the vegetables in the daechang fat, which is full of rich, nutty oil, was so delicious.

The chewy gopchang was clean with no gamey smell, and the fat inside was rich and nutty,

and the makchang, which gets nuttier the more you chew, was perfect too. That's Eunseong Hanu Gopchang for you.

Even just dipped in the oil sauce, it makes the drinks go down so easily!
Ramen to finish the gopchang meal

The ramen I ordered as the final dessert!
