We eat marinated galbi all the time, but fresh (unmarinated) galbi isn't something you run into so easily. Today I got to eat fresh galbi.
They grill it for you at the table, the vibe is great, and the interior is spotless — honestly had an even better time than expected! Let me introduce it to you.

Inside Jangjak Saenggalbi: three floors and marble-look tables

Here's the inside of Jangjak Saenggalbi Jongno Main Branch, this Jongno, Daegu fresh galbi spot good for date nights and work dinners. Three floors total, and it was nearly full! The tables have a marble-like finish haha. The place felt fresh and really clean.
Everyone was already having a great time haha. Wow... after tasting the meat here I get why it's so busy. Genuinely the real deal. Amazing.
The menu: garlic galbi sold out, so fresh galbi it was

The menu is posted on the wall like this,

and you can also see it on the kiosk like this. I wanted the marinated galbi but it was sold out, ㅠㅠ. No choice but to go with fresh galbi. Still, so happy about it haha!

Here are the basic side dishes at Jangjak Saenggalbi Jongno Main Branch, this Jongno, Daegu fresh galbi spot good for date nights and work dinners. Scallion salad, pickled radish, spicy shredded radish, baek-kimchi (white kimchi), perilla leaf pesto — everything came out so neat and delicious haha. Perfect with the meat. Top-tier banchan.
Fresh galbi grilled by the staff, with the rib meat carved off for you

Finally, the fresh galbi I ordered arrived~ Wow, the visuals are insane haha. Look at that marbling ㅠㅠ. Absolutely crazy.

Once the plate got hot enough, the staff member stood there and grilled it for us directly haha, super friendly. Since it's beef it cooked fast, so we could eat quickly.
Ugh — look at that color, this meat is just... so tender, deep in color, incredible marbling haha. A genuine treasure!

They even deboned the meat stuck to the rib bone and grilled it for us — that bit of meat is genuinely so chewy and springy, great texture. Even deeper flavor haha. Jangjak Saenggalbi Jongno Main Branch, this Jongno, Daegu fresh galbi spot for date nights and work dinners, is amazing. So good—

Dipped it in salt, in the special sauce, ate it with scallion salad too. But honestly the best pairing is the spicy shredded radish haha — it's frozen slightly then thawed, and it's genuinely delicious.

Looking at it, I felt like the fresh galbi comes with a light marinade already on it! I asked and they confirmed that's right haha. At Jangjak Saenggalbi Jongno Main Branch, this Jongno, Daegu fresh galbi spot for date nights and work dinners, the meat melts the second it hits your mouth. Ahh, I want more already!!
One bite dipped in salt, ah~ ahhh
Free cypress-steamed dish and the 15,000-won ttagwijjim
This is the cypress-steamed dish that comes free with the meal — this, this is a real find, incredible. Made with shrimp, shiitake mushroom, and chadolbaegi (thinly sliced beef brisket), and when you dip it with the bean sprouts in the sauce it just melts in your mouth haha. Amazing... An extra order is 10,000 won, and you can buy more if you want.

Tastes like honey.

Next I had the ttagwijjim (braised rib stew) haha — it's basically galbi braised on the bone. This is a serious rice thief!!
I inhaled it without even noticing it disappearing. At 15,000 won it feels like an absolute steal haha.
