Daegu salon no-red 7.1 repair dye before a wedding shoot: With Me Hair

I went to With Me Hair (위드미헤어) in Dongseongno, Daegu, for repair dye to change my hair color before my wedding shoot!!

Where is With Me Hair in Dongseongno, and is there parking?

With Me Hair is in Jung-gu, between 228 Park and the National Debt Repayment Movement Memorial Park, on the 3rd floor of the Joeun Pharmacy building behind Shin Dermatology.

It's close to 228 Park, so I took a bus to Samdeok Fire Station and walked about 5 minutes, trot trot trot. I often eat around the back of Shin Dermatology, so I found it quickly. They say you can park too if there's a spot on the building's 1st floor.

Go up to the 3rd floor and With Me Hair is right in front of you. It's a Dongseongno hair salon specializing in repair straightening, repair perms and repair dye 💆‍♀️💇‍♀️

You can book through Naver, so I showed up at my time and the super fun owner-stylist greeted me warmly.

How damaged was my hair before the wedding shoot?

I came to With Me Hair to dye my hair a lighter color for the wedding shoot. Let's take a look at the before state,,,,

Early this year I got a hippie perm that went wrong, so I had it straightened, and around summer I got a C-curl perm. Because of the hippie perm, my hair got badly fried and there are tons of broken parts. It even flies around like baby hairs. It's pretty damaged, sob.

Why a level 7 (7.1) color for a wedding shoot?

I browsed the With Me Hair color chart and picked 7.1, which has no red tones 🙄 On Instagram Reels, lots of people recommend level 7 for wedding shoot dye. Dyeing hair is always on the list of things to do before a wedding shoot, so even I, who kept natural black hair for years, finally decided to go lighter!

Decision made: red-free 7.1! When I said I was dyeing for a wedding shoot, the owner recommended this color too. She said it's European dye, not Japanese!!!

How does repair dye work at With Me Hair?

My hair is very damaged and thin, so at With Me Hair I chose repair dye instead of regular dye. While she mixed the dye, I waited a bit. Come out pretty, with no red tones~~

The owner is serious about repair, so she has a huge variety of hair products. I'm adding that repair ampoule you can see ove-e-e-er there too.

She let me watch her pour in a ton of repair ampoule right in front of me, haha. On top of the ampoule she mixed in a clinic product as a freebie, and since she knows Koreans hate red tones, she read the room perfectly and made a bright color just like the chart. Can't wait, so exciting.

Not fast-forwarded: the With Me Hair owner just works that fast

This isn't fast-forwarded????? The owner's hands were brisk and fast! I was meeting my boyfriend in two hours, but seeing how fast she worked, I told him to come right away, hahaha. Typical "ppalli-ppalli" (hurry-hurry) Korean.

I don't have much hair and it's thin, so she slapped the dye on in no time! I've been to salons dozens, hundreds of times, but this speed is a first,,,

30-minute dye processing time, with coffee while you wait

Since my hair is thin, she said only 30 minutes with the dye on, and she brought me coffee and snacks. The coffee at With Me Hair is a hidden gem too? We joked with the owner that she could open a café after she quits the salon, haha.

With Me Hair also has a VIP prepaid pass, so you can get good value too. While I looked around, 20 minutes had already passed, with about 11 minutes of processing left! She tracked the time with a timer.

Color and hair texture right after the repair dye

After washing and drying, let's check the color. Thanks to the repair ampoule, my hair dried quickly too. My hair is so damaged that blow-drying takes forever, which I find so annoying that I usually leave it half-dry, but after dyeing it actually combed easily and dried fast. I guess this is why people do repair dye, repair perms and repair straightening.

It's still slightly dark, but she said the color fades with each shampoo. My shoot was 3 days later, so my timing was actually perfect. The tone came out even with no patchy spots, and my hair felt calm with no melted strands, and the curls looked livelier too.

It's been a while since I dyed my hair, and the natural, subtle shade was exactly what I wanted.

How did the 7.1 color look two days later and on the wedding shoot day?

This photo was taken two days later in natural light. The color had definitely faded more and looks much brighter in natural light. Indoors it doesn't stand out nearly as much, which I actually liked even more as someone who prefers black hair.

My hair color at the wedding shoot 3 days later! With the strong lighting, it came out as a soft, natural-looking brown. My boyfriend had never seen me dye my hair in the 3 years we've dated, and he said it suits me and looks pretty, hehe (obviously he had to say that).

People say dyeing is a must for wedding shoots because lighter hair shows off the hair texture. Jet-black hair apparently looks like one big clump, so people dye it. I think I did well to dye it in advance. Satisfied!!!!!
