Today I'm introducing a place in Gwangalli where you can enjoy a slightly different kind of Chinese food!!
This time I visited Mirim Yangjang Gwangalli branch (미림양장 광안리점), a Gwangalli favorite where you can try Peking duck and all kinds of Chinese dishes. What I liked was that the menu is different from the Chinese food I usually eat.
I ordered half a Peking duck and duck fried rice, and thanks to a Naver receipt review event I also got Hong Kong-style egg noodles to eat along with them. So here's my visit review!

It's near Gwangalli Beach, Millak The Market and Millak Raw Fish Center, so it's an easy place to stop for a meal while you're spending time around Gwangalli.
You can use the nearby public parking lots, so if you're coming by car, it's worth checking where to park in advance. Please also confirm the hours and parking details with the restaurant before you visit.
Mirim Yangjang Gwangalli branch from the outside

The atmosphere of Mirim Yangjang is great even from the outside. The brick facade and the sign written in Chinese characters go together nicely and feel different from an ordinary restaurant. The look catches your eye from far away, so it didn't seem hard to find!!
What is the interior of Mirim Yangjang Gwangalli branch like?

Inside, the Chinese-style mood continues from the outside. The red-toned interior was impressive, and decorations here and there add an exotic feel.
There's also a cooking area related to Peking duck in the center, which caught my eye. Peking duck takes real care in both preparation and cooking, so it had a different appeal from ordinary Chinese dishes.
There's also space where several people can sit together, so it looked good for a get-together with friends or a group meal.
Ordering by QR: half Peking duck, duck fried rice and Coke Zero

At Mirim Yangjang Gwangalli branch you order with the QR code on the table. After looking over the menu, we ordered half a Peking duck and duck fried rice, and I chose Coke Zero as my drink. Ordering by QR was convenient, and I think it would be easy for friends to discuss and order together too!!
You can order Peking duck as a whole or half duck, so it's easy to choose according to your group size. Besides Peking duck, there are many other Chinese dishes and meal items, so you can pick according to your taste, which was another plus.

After ordering, stir-fried peanuts and bean sprout pickles came out as side dishes. It was a light combination to nibble on before the main dishes arrived.
How to eat half a Peking duck at Mirim Yangjang

Half a Peking duck at Mirim Yangjang comes with duck meat, thin wheat pancakes (miljeonbyeong), cucumber, scallion strips and sauce. The Peking duck I'd been waiting for finally arrived! Seeing the duck neatly arranged on the plate, the presentation was already different from the duck dishes I usually eat, and I was excited to figure out how to combine everything.
You can eat the duck on its own, but the classic way is to wrap it with various ingredients in a pancake.
Put duck on a pancake, add cucumber and scallion strips, then the special sauce, and roll it up. You can combine the ingredients however you like, so every bite can be a little different, which is fun.

The flavor of the duck, the crisp crunch of the cucumber and the aroma of the scallion strips, all tied together by the sauce, made a harmonious bite. Eating the duck by itself feels different from eating it wrapped in a pancake, so it's nice to enjoy it both ways.
If it's your first time trying Peking duck, I especially recommend eating it with the pancakes and vegetables. When all the ingredients come together, you get a better sense of what makes Peking duck special.
Choosing half a duck and ordering other dishes too let us build a varied meal.
Duck fried rice to go with the Peking duck

The dish I ordered with the Peking duck was duck fried rice. I wanted a rice dish to go with the duck. If Peking duck is a dish where you combine pancakes and vegetables, the duck fried rice was a hearty side that works as a proper meal.
Rather than eating only Peking duck, ordering a rice dish too made the meal feel more complete. If you visit in a group, ordering a main dish and a rice dish to share seems like a good idea.
What I liked about Mirim Yangjang is that you can enjoy many Chinese dishes, not just Peking duck. Even if everyone in your group wants something different, you can order a variety.
Hong Kong-style egg noodles from the receipt review event

At Mirim Yangjang Gwangalli branch, I received Hong Kong-style egg noodles through a Naver receipt review event. It was a perk I made sure not to miss this meal.
The egg noodles are a good match if you like noodle dishes. They're stir-fried noodles with vegetables such as bean sprouts, bok choy and scallions, so they felt healthy and had a nice texture!!
With the Peking duck and duck fried rice already ordered, adding noodles made the table even more abundant. Being able to alternate between different kinds of food made the meal more varied, haha.
Looking for different Chinese food in Gwangalli, Busan?

At Mirim Yangjang Gwangalli branch, I ordered half a Peking duck and duck fried rice, and enjoyed egg noodles too through the review event. Combining duck, cucumber, scallion strips and sauce in a pancake was fun, and with the fried rice and egg noodles added, I got to taste a nice variety.
Above all, it left an impression that you can have a slightly different Chinese meal centered on Peking duck.
If you'd like to try something new instead of your usual Gwangalli meal, or want to share a variety of Chinese dishes with a friend, it's worth a visit.
