Hi, I'm Jinu 😃 Today I'm introducing a restaurant in Anrak-dong, Dongnae, Busan where you can enjoy all-you-can-eat freshwater eel along with pork belly and duck neck meat: Songnim Bok Jangeo Unlimited Freshwater Eel.

Why visit an all-you-can-eat eel restaurant in Anrak-dong in summer?
Songnim Bok Jangeo Unlimited Freshwater Eel, Busan Dongnae Branch is a go-to spot in Anrak-dong where, despite rising prices these days, you can eat plenty of freshwater eel plus pork belly and duck neck meat. I visited for some summer stamina food 🙂

Rather than thawing frozen eel, they say they prep freshwater eel brought fresh every morning from the Yangman market and wholesale market, so the quality stays solid even with unlimited refills.

The interior is a good size for group visits like family gatherings, and the table spacing was decent too.

How much does Songnim Bok Jangeo Dongnae Branch cost?
The price is ₩29,900 for adults with a separate table charge of ₩3,000, while elementary schoolers can eat for ₩14,000 with no table charge — great value for a family meal.

How the self-bar works and how the meat is kept
They bring out the first basic set, and after that you help yourself at the self-bar — there are sauces and vegetables you can grab as you like.

What mattered most — the eel, pork belly, and chicken neck meat — were all kept refrigerated rather than frozen, which I liked.

On the wall there's info about the benefits of freshwater eel — apparently it's good for restoring stamina, anti-aging, and even has anti-cancer effects. As I get older, these kinds of perks keep catching my eye haha 🤣 It's probably even better if you check the proper grilling method before you start.

The 2-hour limit: starting slow with the first plate
They bring out the basic side dishes and the first plate, but since everyone prefers different cuts, it seems to come in small portions. The 2-hour limit is plenty of time to eat comfortably, so I decided to take it slow and keep going back for more.

Surprisingly, a bottle of bokbunja came as a service item — bokbunja is also said to be good for restoring energy and as an antioxidant, so it really felt like a full stamina-boosting set 🥹
How were the pork belly and duck neck meat?
They put everything on one grill and cooked it skillfully — having meat alongside the eel buffet definitely helped avoid getting tired of the flavor while eating a lot.
Honestly, I thought the other meats at an eel restaurant were just there to pad out the menu and wouldn't taste as good, so I planned to eat them only in the first round and stick to eel after that. But they were surprisingly good, so I kept bringing pork belly over every time I grabbed more eel 😃
The duck neck meat was just as good as the pork belly — it kept its chewiness and clean flavor, pairing well with both salt and the spicy sauce, so I reached for it even more often than the pork belly. Come to think of it, this is quite the protein-packed spread 😆

In between, we had a glass of bokbunja wine here and there
What the unlimited freshwater eel tastes like, and what to eat it with
Still, eel is the main event, so it needs to taste good, right?
Freshwater eel itself is expensive, so it's usually not a dish you get much of, which makes you savor each bite — but this is an all-you-can-eat place, right? The quality of the eel you can eat freely here felt more than good enough 😌

The classic combo of sauce and ginger worked great too

Wrapping it up in a lettuce leaf to your taste is also great

I think I ate roughly this amount about four times

As we kept grilling and eating, grilling and eating, they got the hang of it and cooked it better and better each time. Even now, editing this, the smoky, savory taste is stuck in my head enough to make me crave it again 🙂

Six plates in total: the verdict from a small eater
Counting the first plate they brought out, I think I ate around six plates. What's interesting is that all three main items — eel, pork belly, duck neck meat — were savory yet light, so it was easy to keep eating without getting sick of them. Even with my small appetite, I just kept going. That's how satisfying the taste was — this was my review of Songnim Bok Jangeo Unlimited Freshwater Eel!
