This is Yuha!😍 So many parents love gamjatang (pork bone soup) and haejangguk (hangover soup), but it's often hard to go with a young kid. So let me introduce a great restaurant in Centum with an actual kids' meal on the menu ヽ(✿ﾟ▽ﾟ)ノ

Byeolhaebyeol Gamjatang Centum sits on the main road heading up toward the Busan District Court's Eastern Branch in Jaesong-dong. It's not right in the heart of Centum City itself but in the everyday Jaesong-dong neighborhood, so it's a great pick for lunch or dinner if you're already in the area. The exterior alone gives off major good-restaurant energy!

Is parking easy?

Parking at Byeolhaebyeol Gamjatang Centum, a solid Jaesong-dong restaurant, is really convenient. There's dedicated parking right in front of the restaurant, so you don't have to worry about it at all! Room for about 6 cars.

The exterior is clean and there's even a waiting area set up. Comfortable to wait even if there's a line haha.

The interior was seriously clean — as clean as japchae, haha — and plenty of people were already eating. Our little booger helping set the table lol. All the seats in the room we sat in filled up completely while we were eating. So many people kept coming in to eat haha. Confirmed: a real Jaesong-dong neighborhood favorite!!!!

The thoughtful little signage was nice too.

The menu: just gamjatang or ppyeo-haejangguk

The menu is simple. Gamjatang or ppyeo-haejangguk (bone hangover soup). A place that only serves gamjatang and haejangguk kind of gives off a stronger 'this is going to be good' feeling.

The deciding factor for our visit: the kids' meal

This is the deciding factor that brought us here. The kids' meal!!!!! Gamjatang or haejangguk are tough to bring a 5-year-old to ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ since she still can't handle spicy food. A place that actually offers a kids' meal is so rare and precious!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The kimchi has to be good for a place to be legit, and the kimchi and kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) here were genuinely delicious~? Haha I refilled it a few times.

The mild gamjatang — how was it for lunch?

Our gamjatang arrived — you can choose mild or spicy. When we asked about the spicy version, they said it's a bit spicier than Shin Ramyun, but since it was lunch we both went mild. It came out with big chunks of meat and plenty of ugeoji (dried napa cabbage leaves).

Oh, can you see those big chunks of meat? It's great for enjoying the deep flavor drawn out from the bones without any harsh spiciness. The broth wasn't heavy but was rich and smooth going down, making it perfect for lunch. The big bones came with generous amounts of meat, and it must have been simmered forever — the meat just slid right off the bone without any effort haha. It was so soft and moist, delicious whether dipped in the sauce or soaked in the broth.

When I eat haejangguk I like to pick off all the meat and mix it into the broth over rice, haha. The ugeoji and meat were seriously generous!!!!!!!!!

What does the kids' meal look like?

Everyone, the kids' meal arrived and it was amazing.... ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Our little one was thrilled the second it came out, calling it a 'crab bowl' ㅠㅠㅠ then thrilled again that the star had eyes and a mouth on it ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ then thrilled that it was 'cake rice' ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ — excited before even eating a bite haha. I figured a 'kids' meal' usually just meant reheated frozen fried rice, but this was real ham and vegetable fried rice packed with a variety of ingredients..

There was a lot of it too, so I ate some with her — mild and not at all harsh, and really tasty. When even the kids' meal is made with this much care, how could you not want to come back? Confirmed: a real Jaesong-dong neighborhood favorite. This is officially my go-to haejangguk spot haha.

Open as usual during the Chuseok holiday

Byeolhaebyeol Gamjatang Centum will be open as usual through the Chuseok holiday! When you're sick of rich holiday food, it'd be nice to come here with the family for a spicy, hearty haejangguk or gamjatang meal haha.
