Jongno wine bar for a pre-wedding dinner in Seoul: Dongmyo Market

Dongmyo Market is a wine bar in Jongno, Seoul, near Dongmyo, decorated like a small American grocery store. Over non-alcoholic wine and a highball, the beef brisket ragu tteokbokki (spicy stir-fried rice cakes) and the Market pork chop were shared during a long-overdue catch-up with a younger sibling. Songjeong Dol Jjamppong is a filling stop before or after a walk along Songjeong Beach.

Songjeong hanok café for an after-lunch break: Suwolgyeonghwa, Busan

Suwolgyeonghwa is a hanok-style café near Songjeong Beach in Haeundae, Busan. After lunch and a walk along the beach, we stopped at Suwolgyeonghwa for a window seat looking out on the Songjeong sea and the trains passing by, and ordered the Dalbodeure dessert box, an iced hyeonwolhoji (roasted-tea latte), an americano and a latte. Suwolgyeonghwa was a quiet place to rest in the middle of a Busan trip.
