Apple tea and watermelon drip coffee, Mapo roastery café: Ieo Coffee

Hi everyone! I'd walked past Ieo Coffee Roasters, this Gongdeok café, a few times recently. Every time I saw it I thought I really wanted to visit — and today I finally did!

One reason this Daeheung Station café is well known is that the owner makes the beans, syrups, and desserts by hand, one by one.

Where is Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch, and is there parking?

This Daeheung Station café, Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch, sits between Daeheung and Gongdeok stations, though it felt closer to Daeheung. Coming out of Exit 3 it took about 5 minutes on foot, haha. It's near Dongdo Middle School and Seoul School of Design.

I got a glimpse of the Ieo Coffee menu from outside — quite a wide variety of drinks. Apparently the lattes and milk teas are really good too.

There's no dedicated parking space and none seems to be supported. I'd recommend using a nearby public lot or the Modu Parking app.

What are the seating and atmosphere like at Ieo Coffee Roasters?

From outside, Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch looked really small, but it turned out to be surprisingly not that tiny. There were quite a few different kinds of seats. I love a window view, and there was a window bar seat like a little dock, plus several regular tables.

Overall, there were pretty plants placed around, and the place had a warm yet relaxed atmosphere, haha. Soft and quiet, I'd say?

Drip coffee, desserts, blankets and beans to take home

This Daeheung Station café has regular americano, but also drip coffee.

There are also delicious desserts, and the bread is supposed to be really good — especially the Basque cheesecake? People say it's genuinely amazing, but my friend and I had eaten way too much beforehand, hahaha, so there was no way we could handle dessert — we just ordered drinks. You can also take a sticker home.

There are blankets too, so you can grab one to use.

And this Gongdeok café, Ieo Coffee Roasters, also sells the beans they make in-house! Apparently they taste noticeably better than regular coffee, haha. So if you're into coffee, I'd definitely recommend stopping by.

Comfortable music was playing, which made the atmosphere feel even prettier and warmer, I think. There were nice paintings and little objects hanging on the wall too, lovely to look at.

This Gongdeok café, Ieo Coffee Roasters, has an open kitchen layout where you can directly watch the owner making the coffee. Overall it felt like a very stylish yet comfortable café.

My friend and I ordered the Colombia Villa Clara watermelon drip coffee and an almond latte! The drinks come out in clear glass cups printed with the Ieo Coffee logo.

Colombia Villa Clara Watermelon drip coffee: does it taste like watermelon?

First up is the Colombia Villa Clara watermelon that I ordered — apparently it's an anaerobic fermentation process with watermelon added, giving notes of black tea, lemongrass aroma, and a sweet, juicy feel.

I sipped it slowly and savored it, and it genuinely tasted like watermelon!!! It was such a surprise. It feels like the perfect coffee for these hot summer days.

What does the apple tea at Ieo Coffee taste like?

This is the apple tea. Despite the name, it's not made with apple syrup or any added sugar — it's a steeped tea bag flavor. If you want something sweet like syrup, I'd recommend the juice, grapefruit apple tea, or an ade instead; but if you like a pure tea flavor like I do, this apple tea is the one to get. It was cool and delicious — not watery at all, with just the right flavor. I think it's a menu item that tea lovers would really enjoy, haha.

My friend's almond latte

This is the almond latte my friend had — she said it was really nutty and the milk was clean-tasting. Overall it had that nutty, light kind of feel? Apparently it's a delicious drink that combines all the good points of almond and latte.

Is Ieo Coffee Roasters worth it if you're looking for a Gongdeok café?

Even our dog Bopi would have loved this coffee and tea, haha! Great atmosphere and delicious drinks — this Daeheung Station café, Ieo Coffee Roasters, really impressed me. You can taste the care that goes into everything handmade here, haha. Next time I definitely need to try the desserts too! I really hope you all get a chance to visit — totally recommend it!!
