Daegu sushi with a son: assorted sushi and beef bowl at Sushi Naru

A delivery regular finally visits Sushi Naru in Daegu

Sushi Naru (스시나루) is a sushi restaurant in Nam-gu, Daegu that I go to whenever I crave sushi. The portions are generous and it's great value! I order delivery all the time, but today I'm sharing a real review from actually dining in!

Even while we were eating in the restaurant, delivery orders kept coming in. Guess everybody knows a good place, haha (and I'm one of those people who orders from here a lot 😋).

What are the seats and atmosphere like at Sushi Naru?

The Daegu restaurant has bar-style seats and tables for four!

It felt clean overall, with that distinct vibe of a Japanese sushi restaurant.

Food can come out slowly at peak times

Since Sushi Naru handles takeout and delivery orders too, food can take a little while to come out at peak times. When I visited, I was surprised by how many delivery orders there were, haha.

What comes in the assorted sushi?

The assorted sushi lets you try a bit of everything: shrimp, salmon, white fish, egg and inari (fried tofu pouch) sushi. It came out looking very appetizing on a wooden plate, and I love the variety.

The fish was soft and pleasantly chewy with a subtle savory depth, and it went really well with the rice. With so many kinds, picking and choosing is half the fun 👍🏻👍🏻

A cold draft beer and sushi you pick through piece by piece, so delicious 🍣🍣 From favorites like salmon to white fish sushi, it's a great place to enjoy whatever suits your taste!

The sushi alone is already filling, but it also comes with hot udon, so the set is generous and great value! It's nice as a warm finish too.

Is the Sushi Naru beef bowl okay to eat with a kid?

Both my kid and I enjoyed the beef bowl. I always order a rice bowl whenever I come, and I've been satisfied every single time, and this time was no different! It's easy to enjoy together with a child, and kid and adult both ate really well ☺️☺️

If you're visiting with a group, rather than ordering only sushi, I think it's nice to add a rice bowl or other meal dish and share. You get to enjoy lots of different things at once, so it's a combo I'm personally happy with ✌️

The sushi is light and clean, and the bowl is hearty enough that my kid could eat well too, so the two together are the best 👍🏻👍🏻 My son loved the egg roll sushi ☝️ Add the udon and it's more than enough for a meal‼️

The salmon sushi had that nutty, mildly rich salmon flavor and went well with the rice, so it was easy and delicious to eat 👏👏

Sushi Naru in Daegu: overall verdict

Overall, I was happy with Sushi Naru in Daegu, from the Japanese sushi restaurant feel to the generous menu. The assorted sushi lets you taste many kinds evenly, and with hot udon alongside it's a filling meal‼️‼️ Adding the savory rice bowl made it the perfect combo 👍🏻

If sushi alone feels like it's not enough, or you want a hearty meal dish too, I recommend the assorted sushi and rice bowl combo. It does delivery too, so it's a real go-to place; try it by delivery as well! Next time you want sushi in Daegu, enjoy it with a rice bowl and udon‼️‼️
