From Byway Bakers Byeollae Branch I picked two: Dubai chocolate salt bread for ₩6,500 and fig pistachio salt bread for ₩7,800. I usually love salt bread so I was looking forward to these.
Maybe because figs are in season right now, the lineup is great — fig waegbbu salt bread, fig pistachio salt bread, even a fig pistachio tart. Bread and fig are such a delicious combination.. you have to try it in fall.
The corn cheese looked like a can't-go-wrong combo too.. and the egg salt bread could pass as a whole meal! Good for a simple breakfast in Byeollae.. and there's nothing better than this size of bread for kids' snacks.

And financiers, which I've been really into lately. Byway Bakers' financier box has a great lineup and discount too. I only picked one to taste-test. The salty financier has been so good lately. It's fun hunting down good financier spots.
Asked them to pack up the bread and had a fun little wait. The iced americano was only ₩2,000 so I got one to go with everything, and also ordered a peach iced tea. Haha the mirror selfie is so cute, it's a bread-shaped mirror.
Even the packaging bag was adorable.. I brought the bread home and ate it as a snack while nursing. I've been eating so much bread as snacks lately.. I've fully become a bread-lover.
My husband said chocolate conch bread is his favorite and he wished I'd ordered that too haha. I'll get it for him next time; oops.
How much are drinks at Byway Bakers?
At Byway Bakers Byeollae Branch, the americano and peach iced tea together came to just ₩5,200. It's nice to get both for the price of one cup elsewhere. There are also four iced tea flavors — peach, lemon, grapefruit, orange hallabong. These days coffee prices feel like they're being wasted like water, so this is a relief.
How the salt breads tasted at home
Got home and opened the bread bag.. I'd been waiting for this moment for so long haha haha. I hurried my husband to put the baby to sleep so we could eat right away.
The fig salt bread felt more like a dessert bread. Light to eat, and the salt bread had gone nice and moist haha. Since it's a fruit-and-cream combo, you should refrigerate it or eat it quickly — be careful since it can spoil in this hot weather that's back again.
The salty financier had a nice salty pairing. The outside is on the crispy side.
The Dubai chocolate salt bread was seriously delicious. The filling was packed full, and it was a shame to watch it disappear. They also sell a chocolate chip cookie that I heard is really good too. I highly recommend this Dubai chocolate salt bread!
The bread is also generously sized, and since they're open year-round, it's nice you can go anytime you're craving bread! New breads come out every season, and it's a great bakery to visit if you want to try the trending breads you see online! So jealous of Byeollae residents 😆💗
