Byeollae family Chinese restaurant with baby chairs: Sinogu Banjeom
In short
Sinogu Banjeom Byeollae branch is a Chinese restaurant in Byeollae, Namyangju that serves jjajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce), jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) and tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) in one sitting. Baby chairs, single seats and group tables make Sinogu Banjeom workable for both family outings and a quick solo meal, and this visit was built around Set 4, which combines all three dishes. It is a good order when one dish alone feels like too little and a few people want to share.

I'd been craving Chinese food for a while and went looking for good spots in Byeollae, which led me to Sinogu Banjeom. I wanted jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles), I wanted jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), and I couldn't give up tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) either — so this time I just ordered the jjajang, jjamppong, and tangsuyuk set. When one dish alone feels like it's not enough, a combo like this is surprisingly satisfying since you get to try a bit of everything.
What is Sinogu Banjeom, the Chinese restaurant in Byeollae, like?

If you're looking for a Chinese restaurant in Byeollae to casually stop into whenever you're craving jjajangmyeon or jjamppong, Sinogu Banjeom is worth keeping in mind.

Inside, along with baby chairs, there were single seats and group tables too, so the space worked well for family outings, a quick solo meal, or a bigger group.
Ordering Set 4: jjajangmyeon, jjamppong and tangsuyuk

What we ordered that day at Sinogu Banjeom Byeollae branch was the jjajangmyeon, jjamppong, and tangsuyuk set. As the dishes started coming out one by one on the table, I was reminded that part of the fun of Chinese food is having several dishes spread out at once.

I was looking forward to the sweet, savory taste of the jjajangmyeon, and I also wanted that spicy jjamppong broth — and with tangsuyuk on top of that, it made for a pretty hearty meal. Especially when visiting with several people, I thought ordering a set like this to share might actually be better than ordering each dish separately.
How sweet is the jjajangmyeon at Sinogu Banjeom?

First I tried the most basic dish, the jjajangmyeon. The black bean sauce was mixed evenly through the noodles, so with the first bite I could taste that signature nutty, sweet jjajang flavor. Jjajangmyeon really is a dish you can't skip when you're at a Chinese restaurant.
Mixing the sauce well into the noodles let the jjajang soak in between every strand, making it delicious to eat. Jjajangmyeon isn't about bold or intense flavor — it's familiar and comfortable, which made me think it's a dish people of any age can enjoy without hesitation. If you're looking for a jjajangmyeon spot in Byeollae, this is a good place to start with the basics.
Jjamppong with a generous portion

While eating the jjajangmyeon, I also tried a bite of the jjamppong, and it had a completely different charm from the jjajangmyeon.
The spicy broth of the jjamppong combined with the savory depth of the seafood, and switching back and forth between the two dishes never got old — I kept reaching for more. Especially taking a sip of jjamppong broth after eating jjajangmyeon felt like it cleared my palate, which made me glad I ordered both together.
Crispy tangsuyuk, shared at the table

And then, tangsuyuk — you can't skip it when eating Chinese food! Eating the hot, freshly served tangsuyuk with its sauce paired really well with both the jjajangmyeon and jjamppong. Tangsuyuk is delicious on its own, but eating it alongside jjajangmyeon creates yet another combination. Enjoying it in bite-sized pieces while working through the jjajangmyeon and jjamppong, the plates were emptying out before I knew it. Eating all three Chinese dishes together was satisfying because it let me enjoy a wider range of flavors than sticking to just one.
Is the set menu enough for a group?

Trying the jjajangmyeon + jjamppong + tangsuyuk set at Sinogu Banjeom this time, I thought it was a solid choice when you want to enjoy several Chinese dishes at once. Jjajangmyeon alone can feel like it's missing something, and if you're also craving jjamppong and tangsuyuk, one set menu lets you enjoy a variety of dishes together — which I liked. It seems especially well suited for visiting with family or friends, since everyone can share the dishes they each want, making it a great fit for group visits.
Looking for a Chinese restaurant in Byeollae, Namyangju?

These days there are so many different kinds of restaurants, but sometimes you just crave that familiar Chinese restaurant menu. Having the sweet, nutty taste of jjajangmyeon, the spicy broth of jjamppong, and crispy tangsuyuk all in one sitting, I felt like I'd properly enjoyed a full Chinese meal for the first time in a while. If you're looking for a Chinese restaurant in Byeollae where you can enjoy jjajangmyeon, jjamppong, and tangsuyuk all at once, trying the set menu at Sinogu Banjeom for a hearty meal seems like a good idea. Next time I'm craving Chinese food in Byeollae, I'd like to try some of their other dishes too.
