Sokcho Daeilho Bangeo is a seafood takeout shop in Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market, Sokcho. I picked two pre-packed assorted sashimi sets for my family to eat at our accommodation; shared with other market food, they were enough for six adults and the fish stayed pleasantly chewy.

While on a trip to Sokcho with my family, I stopped by Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market to buy sashimi for dinner at our accommodation. We chose two assorted sashimi packs from Sokcho Daeilho Bangeo (속초대일호방어) and shared them with other market food.

How do you choose and pack sashimi at the market?
As I looked around the market, I noticed people waiting for takeout in front of the shop and took a look. When I visited, many people were lining up to buy it.

Pre-packed sashimi was displayed at the shop. You choose the combination you want, pay straight away, and take it with you.

There was no wait for the fish to be sliced after ordering, so it was convenient for quickly choosing food to take back to our accommodation.

What were the assorted sashimi prices and fish varieties?
Along with the seasonal assorted sashimi, there were uni, raw sweet shrimp, bluefin tuna, sushi, and more. It was convenient to buy dishes to go with the sashimi in one place.

That day, we chose a three-variety seasonal assorted sashimi set for ₩40,000 and a five-variety Sokcho-caught assorted sashimi set for ₩45,000. For the three-variety set, I chose a pack with flounder, red sea bream, and horse mackerel; the five-variety set included croaker and several other fish. The selection can change depending on that day's delivery, so check in person.

Do they provide packaging and parking vouchers for the trip back?
The two packs were placed in a red nonwoven bag, and they included ice packs. Since we had to travel to our accommodation before eating, I appreciated the packaging. The owner was kind as well.

That day, I asked for one parking voucher and was given two. However, I did not confirm which parking lot they applied to or how much parking time they covered.
Were two assorted sashimi packs enough for six adults?
When we opened the packs at our accommodation, the sashimi was packed tightly without a thick layer of shredded radish or angel-hair noodles underneath. The containers may look a little small, but the slices were thick and closely arranged, so there was more than I expected once spread out.

The six adults in our group shared the two packs with other market food, and it did not feel insufficient. Please keep in mind that we were not having sashimi alone as our meal. Soy sauce, wasabi, and chojang (sweet-tangy chili sauce) were included, so we did not need to prepare sauces separately.

How did the pre-packed sashimi taste and feel?
Because it was not sashimi sliced to order, I initially wondered how it would taste. Even though we ate it several hours after buying it, the sashimi I had was not soggy or soft and remained pleasantly chewy. I barely noticed any fishiness, so I ate it with a little soy sauce and wasabi.

My younger brother, who ate with us, also said it tasted good. What stayed with me was the thick slices, chewy texture, and the tightly packed sashimi.

I especially liked the set that included red sea bream. If packs with and without red sea bream were the same price, I would choose the one with red sea bream again.
