Seohae, Incheon pasta place: chili oil shrimp risotto at Eopu Kitchen

Today I'm giving you an honest review of Eopu Kitchen (어푸키친), a Western restaurant near the Incheon Seo-gu Office area. It has just hit its 4th anniversary and has plenty of regulars. Let's see what it's like!

Where is Eopu Kitchen and how is the parking?

Eopu Kitchen is at 243 Seunghak-ro, Seohae-gu, Incheon, on the 2nd floor, near Seohae District Office and the Seohae-gu public health center. The building has no parking lot, but you can park for free in the P6 lot on the east side of Incheon Asiad Main Stadium or along the roadside parking lines.

It's Seohae District Office now, not Seo-gu Office, right? At Eopu Kitchen a chef with 18 years of experience cooks everything alone, so the taste is always consistent.

Eopu Kitchen atmosphere and seating

The interior is clean, with 4-person tables spaced far apart, so it feels comfortable. The restroom is inside the restaurant too, and it was tidy.

On top of that, Eopu Kitchen has been recognized in lots of places.

The restroom is inside and clean. The Eopu Kitchen logo caught my eye, and it turns out it means "falling for pasta," which is why there's a swimming character.

Eopu Kitchen menu and what we ordered

At lunchtime, Eopu Kitchen offers various set menus at low prices. This day we ordered aglio olio (₩14,000), spicy shrimp cream risotto (₩19,000) and rucola pepperoni pizza (₩19,000).

I ordered the aglio olio pasta, the spicy shrimp cream risotto and the rucola pepperoni pizza.

There are also various drinks and alcohol, including wine by the glass in individual packaging, so it would be a nice place to drop in for pasta and wine in the evening.

How are the bread and pickles at Eopu Kitchen?

Bread and pickles come out before the meal. The pickles are clean-tasting ones made with radish and jalapeño, no cucumber.

I don't eat pickles if they have cucumber in them, you know? These were radish and jalapeño pickles, so crisp and clean, and I really enjoyed them.

With an 18-year chef, I guess that's why all the food came out quickly, all at once. The chef must have really fast hands.

How spicy is the aglio olio at Eopu Kitchen?

The aglio olio (₩14,000) is a spicy oil pasta with a garlicky flavor. It's fairly spicy, so it might be a bit hot for kids. It's loaded with olive oil, zucchini, garlic and rucola.

The seasoning is spot on, and dipping the pizza crust in the oil was seriously good. Toss the noodles well and twirl them up, and it must be delicious, right?

What does the spicy shrimp cream risotto taste like?

The spicy shrimp cream risotto (₩19,000) is a creamy risotto with a chili oil base, full of shrimp flavor. My partner said it was the best risotto they had ever eaten.

Maybe because of the spicy chili oil, it cuts through the richness of the cream, and the cream in turn softens the heat. It was a really great combination.

There were lots of plump shrimp, and you could taste the shrimp flavor in the rice itself.

Eopu Kitchen rucola pepperoni pizza

The rucola pepperoni pizza (₩19,000) is a pepperoni pizza piled high with rucola. It comes with Parmesan cheese, peperoncino and hot sauce.

We also ordered the rucola pepperoni pizza, a pepperoni pizza piled with rucola.

The dough was really good too, and with so many toppings it was a joy to eat.

Parmesan cheese, peperoncino and hot sauce come alongside, so you can season it just how you like.

Is Eopu Kitchen worth going back to?

The portions are big, so you can take leftover pizza home, and they packed it in a neat container. There's also a 4th-anniversary event: 20% off for orders of ₩40,000 or more through July (except July 11 and 17).

The portions were so big I wondered what to do, but the pizza can be packed to go. They wrapped it up nicely in a tidy container.

Honestly, I felt the location is a bit inconvenient, but a place that has lasted 4 years and still keeps getting customers late on a weekday lunch is surely one you can trust, right? Getting such tasty pasta, risotto and pizza with spot-on seasoning at low prices is really great.
