Siheung seafood restaurant: snow crab ramyeon set at Crab Yasijang

Crab Yasijang Multinational Course Sushi Geobukseom Main Branch is a seafood set-menu and aged sushi restaurant on Geobukseom-ro in Siheung, Gyeonggi. Lunch here was one Pohang-style live abalone mulhoe (cold raw fish soup) set and one Jumunjin snow crab ramyeon set, each arriving as a full table with rice, soft tofu, napa cabbage salad and honey grilled crab. The leftover mulhoe sauce was finished with rice and the crab ramyeon carried a deep seafood savoriness, making Crab Yasijang a 100% would-return spot.

Ansan grilled pork ribs with bibim naengmyeon combo: Cheongnyuok

Cheongnyuok is a Korean BBQ restaurant on Bandalseom (Seonggok-dong) in Ansan, Gyeonggi, serving Handon (Korean-raised pork) ribs and hanwoo (Korean beef) grilled over charcoal. Two portions of Handon pork ribs ordered with bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) and chadol doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew with beef brisket) came out sweet-salty rather than overly sweet or salty, the ribs were thick and satisfying to chew, and stirring rice into the stew for doenjang-suljibap rounded the meal out. With wide spacing between tables and plenty of seats, Cheongnyuok works for both a family dinner and a work get-together.
