Saturday 7pm near Bangi Station: why a reservation is essential

This weekend's Bangi Station find was a place called Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch, near Olympic Park and located right in the Bangi eatery alley! I visited after booking on Naver, arriving around 7pm, and since it was weekend peak time, the place was nearly fully booked! If you're planning to visit during weekend peak hours like I did, I'd definitely recommend reserving ahead on Naver.

Is there parking near Bangi Station? Valet for 2,000 won

If you frequent the Bangi Station eatery alley, you'll know parking there is basically impossible — but this Bangi Station favorite, Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch, has its own private lot!! A Bangi Station restaurant with parking..!!!! We happened to be driving that day, so this was such a relief haha! Just note there's a ₩2,000 valet fee! Still, being able to park right in front of the restaurant and have it all handled so easily is such a huge plus!

Inside, Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch has a long rectangular layout! There were quite a lot of tables, but since it's so famous as a Bangi Station spot, even all those tables were full! So reservations are a must!!! There was a female owner who was so kind — she'd swing by to check if we needed more side dishes or explain how to grill the meat, which I thought was such a thoughtful touch haha.

Before heading out, there was a dedicated spot to wash your hands like this! Another little detail that made me think this place has great attention to detail haha.

A private room for groups of up to 36

Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch also has a room-style group table! It can apparently seat around 36 people — and in fact, while we were having dinner, a group of 20 came in for a reservation. Because it's a separate private room, regular customers like us weren't disturbed at all and everyone could enjoy their meal comfortably.

Unlike other BBQ places, Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch has an actual menu board, and you order through the staff! The main menu includes snowflake galbi, lamb ribs, and kkodeulsal — and kkodeulsal in particular is famous enough to have appeared on the TV show Su Yo Mi Sik Hoe! There's also a well-known noodle dish called teolraegi sujebi (hand-torn dough soup)!

Best side dish: the spicy radish salad (mu-saengchae)

After ordering our meat at Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch, the side dishes came out! We got pickled onions, perilla leaf sauce, mu-saengchae, and pickled radish wraps — and that mu-saengchae!!!! It was so good!!!! Haha, my boyfriend and I ended up eating almost as much of it as the meat!

Snowflake galbi for two, 50,000 won: US beef, still juicy

What we ordered at Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch was snowflake galbi. My boyfriend had been craving beef for a while, and since they happened to have beef ribs, we ordered right away! It's US beef priced at ₩25,000, and ordering for two got us two thick pieces!

We grilled the snowflake galbi carefully, turning it every which way! The charcoal must've been great because the meat cooked beautifully, and it was so thick that I figured a good grill job would really bring out the juices, haha.

We finally ate the snowflake galbi after grilling it well! The very first bite, dipped in salt, was genuinely delicious!!!!!! Honestly I didn't expect much since it was US beef, but wow — full of juice, and while my boyfriend's grilling skills helped, the meat itself was just good!

The meat clinging to the bone was especially delicious. It gets really hot after grilling, so let it cool a bit, but definitely pick it apart and eat it even if it's a hassle..!!!

Steamed egg for 3,000 won

I absolutely love steamed egg! Since Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch had it on the menu, I ordered it to eat alongside the meat!

Kkodeulsal for two, 36,000 won, dipped in hairtail fish sauce

Yep, you guessed it, we ordered more haha. Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch is also famous for kkodeulsal! It felt like too much of a waste to leave without trying it, so we ordered two more servings! The portion was generous enough that maybe one serving would've been plenty, haha.

The kkodeulsal at Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch lived up to its name — chewy and springy, with a totally different vibe from pork belly! The unique texture made it taste even better, I think! They also serve it with what seemed to be hairtail fish sauce, and dipping the kkodeulsal in it really deepened the flavor! Definitely give it a try!!

And lastly!!!! Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch has separate men's and women's restrooms indoors!!! This actually matters a lot!!! Restrooms are a big deal for me, so this was another huge plus >_<

Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch, visited for weekend dinner! With parking available, a group table, and both the snowflake galbi and kkodeulsal tasting great, it made for a really enjoyable Saturday night dinner!!
