Jinju naengmyeon restaurant, mul-bibim on the drive home: Song Giwon

Today I'm introducing a Jinju naengmyeon restaurant that appeared on the TV show Jeon Hyun-moo Plan — "Song Giwon Jinju Naengmyeon"!

Song Giwon Jinju Naengmyeon Main Branch is open daily from 10:30 to 20:00, with a break time from 16:00 to 17:00. Parking is available in the lot right in front of the restaurant.

On the way home from Sancheong, I suddenly craved cool naengmyeon, so we stopped by Song Giwon Naengmyeon, famous as a Jinju naengmyeon restaurant~~

You can park right in front of Song Giwon Jinju Naengmyeon, but it's such a popular restaurant that if you don't arrive early, there are no spots left, haha. We visited on a weekday and there were still a lot of customers ㅠ.ㅠ

How long is the weekday wait? 10 minutes on Tableling

At Song Giwon Jinju Naengmyeon Main Branch, you put your name on the wait list through Tableling and wait at the seats set up outside the restaurant, and the owner calls your number over a microphone!! ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ It was really hot that day, but waiting in the shade wasn't too bad.

I actually hate waiting with a passion ㅠㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ but since naengmyeon restaurants tend to have fast turnover, I figured I'd give it a shot and wait a bit. Luckily, after about 10 minutes we were seated, which was satisfying haha.

Inside Song Giwon: are the tables rotating?

The interior seating at this Jinju naengmyeon restaurant, Song Giwon Jinju Naengmyeon, was pretty unique — it kind of looks like a Chinese restaurant with a rotating table, doesn't it? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ There are separate tables set up on either side of this central table, so keep that in mind!

Song Giwon Naengmyeon in Jinju is a Blue Ribbon-awarded restaurant, so I was genuinely curious before ordering — apparently even their broth has been the subject of a theft story ㅠㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Ordering mul-naengmyeon and mul-bibim

No hesitation once we looked at the menu~~ We picked one mul-naengmyeon and one mul-bibim! The menu names at Song Giwon Jinju Naengmyeon are a bit unusual, but if you just say mul-naeng, bi-naeng, or mul-bibim, they'll know exactly what you mean haha.

The vinegar on the table... the color was so pretty haha.

They brought out the naengmyeon in less than 5 minutes after ordering. It was nice not having to wait long!?

How do the broth and noodles taste at Song Giwon Jinju Naengmyeon?

Visually it looked just like any other naengmyeon, but when I took a sip of the broth, oh — it was really unfamiliar yet clean-tasting, but there was also a hint of seafood, and it was quite different from naengmyeon I'd had before.

The mul-bibim had that seasoned-chili flavor going on, so it was savory, and the broth honestly stole the show even more~~

Adding a bit of mustard and vinegar to the mul-naengmyeon, at first it was like, huh, what is this? But then it became this addictive broth flavor I kept coming back to...

The noodles were nice and chewy, pairing so well with the broth haha. But they weren't tough either, so they were easy to digest!

Mul-naengmyeon and mul-bibim piled with yukjeon

This mul-naengmyeon from Song Giwon Jinju Naengmyeon, a Jinju naengmyeon restaurant, comes piled with savory yukjeon (pan-fried beef), making it even more enjoyable!!!

As for the mul-bibim, need I say more... refreshing yet savory, exactly my style. And the portion wasn't overwhelmingly large, just right!

There was so much yukjeon that even after finishing the noodles, I thought I'd burst fishing out all the pieces of yukjeon... ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Verdict: who should visit Song Giwon Jinju Naengmyeon

"Song Giwon Jinju Naengmyeon," a Jinju naengmyeon restaurant, serves the dish that hits hardest in this kind of hot weather... naengmyeon. With its long history and tradition, it's famous not only among Jinju locals but also a Jinju restaurant that out-of-town visitors seek out while traveling!

The flavor is clean and not too heavy, so it's easy for elders to enjoy too, which is why so many families come here. If you're looking for a Jinju naengmyeon restaurant, I'd recommend giving Song Giwon Jinju Naengmyeon a try haha.
