Jeonju House is a Korean restaurant in Bongmyeong-dong, Yuseong, Daejeon, serving cast-iron galbi kimchi stew and pot rice. Visiting in the late lunch hour meant no waiting at all, with the stew kept simmering on each table's own burner and self-serve tofu, bean sprouts, and geotjeori (fresh kimchi salad) refilled freely. A comforting, filling meal built around one stew.
Olivus Compagno Sejong Boram Branch is an Italian restaurant on Sicheongdae-ro in Boram-dong, Sejong. On a rainy day, a two-person set brought potato cream soup, aglio olio, cinnamon pear gorgonzola pizza, and homemade semifreddo to the table. The chunky garlic slices in the aglio olio stayed mild rather than spicy, and the apple-topped pizza made for a cozy indoor date.
