Café near Anseong Farm Land: live jazz & mango cream cake, Chat Baker

In short

Chat Baker Brunch & Bakery Café is a large bakery and brunch café near Anseong Farm Land in Gongdo-eup, Anseong, Gyeonggi. After a Chuseok holiday outing to Anseong Farm Land with his wife and daughter, the writer stopped at Chat Baker for mango cream cake, sausage pizza bread, salt bread and drip coffee, then caught a live set by the jazz band THE HORNZ at the CHAT BAKER STAGE LIVE JAZZ event. The bread and coffee alone were satisfying, but the chance live jazz made Chat Baker a special family memory.

Did everyone eat well and have a good time over the last Chuseok holiday? With a rare long break, my family — my wife, my daughter and I — headed out for a fun autumn outing to Anseong Farm Land to get some fresh air. After wandering the wide fields and watching the cute animals for a good while, we started getting hungry and craving a sweet dessert with a cool cup of coffee.

So we looked for somewhere nearby with a nice atmosphere to relax, and ended up at Chat Baker, a café near Anseong Farm Land that's been getting a lot of buzz lately. Spoiler: the delicious bread and drip coffee were already great, but we also ended up watching an unexpected, fantastic live jazz performance in person — so I want to walk you through the whole visit in detail!

Where is Chat Baker and what's the vibe like inside?

Chat Baker is a brunch-and-bakery café in Gongdo-eup, Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, just a short drive from Anseong Farm Land — perfect to stop by before or after an outing. From the moment we pulled up, the spacious parking lot and open, striking exterior caught my eye.

Stepping inside, I was really struck by the modern, sophisticated interior — white tones paired with a clean exposed ceiling. The ceilings are high and the seats are spaced generously, making it a very comfortable space whether you're visiting as a family or on a date.

By the windows, there were atmospheric steam-flame effect lights creating a soft mood, and the center of the café had a stylish spot decorated with moss and plants that made for great photos. If you're after a nice suburban Gyeonggi café or a new spot in Anseong, this place should suit your taste perfectly.

At Chat Baker, we picked the mango cream cake, sausage pizza bread, salt bread and a croissant. Once we got to the store, it was time to choose our sweets and drinks! The bakery counter was packed with a wonderfully varied, mouthwatering lineup of breads.

Mango cream cake

Chat Baker's mango cream cake grabs your attention on looks alone! Generous, fresh mango slices piled on soft, moist whipped cream — my daughter devoured it happily. It's clear why this place has become known as a top cake spot in Anseong.

Sausage pizza bread, salt bread, and croissant

The savory, flavor-packed sausage pizza bread was perfect for filling our hungry stomachs, and the crescent-shaped salt bread and croissant were textbook examples of crispy-outside, soft-inside perfection. The rich buttery aroma made it instantly clear why Chat Baker gets recommended as a top salt bread spot or bakery café in Anseong's Gongdo area.

What's the drip coffee like at Chat Baker?

One of the highlights at Chat Baker was definitely the drip coffee. Looking at the bar, I noticed a POURSTEADY automatic drip machine set up, which meant we got to taste carefully, professionally brewed drip coffee.

We ordered Ethiopian and Indonesian beans, and I really appreciated the thoughtful touch of marking each cup with green masking tape so we could easily tell which bean was which. The carefully brewed drip coffee had deep, distinct bean flavor, and it paired wonderfully with the nutty, sweet bakery items!

Can you catch a live jazz show at Chat Baker?

On the day we visited during the Chuseok holiday, there was a live performance by the jazz group THE HORNZ on the in-store stage as part of the CHAT BAKER STAGE LIVE JAZZ event. We were enjoying our bread and coffee and chatting with each other when we started hearing soft instrumental sounds — turns out we'd unknowingly arrived right during the event period, on a performance day, and got an unexpected gift of a bonus!

The rich sound of live saxophone and trombone, along with the vocalist's smooth, deep voice, filled the whole spacious café, and I genuinely got chills. Thanks to the open interior that stretches up to the second-floor terrace line, it felt almost like being at a fantastic jazz club abroad.

In our busy everyday lives, we don't get many chances to hear such vivid, in-person live music, so both my wife and I found ourselves completely absorbed and captivated by the resonant performance — it had been a long time since we'd heard anything like it. Our daughter's eyes sparkled with curiosity as she watched the stage intently. It turned into something far more than a simple café visit — a truly special, romantic memory.

Would I recommend Chat Baker as a family outing café?

Chat Baker, the large café we visited between Pyeongtaek and Anseong over the Chuseok holiday, nailed every element — a spacious, sophisticated interior, carefully made drip coffee, excellent desserts, and a moving live performance on top of it all.

If you're looking for a special spot in Anseong's Gongdo area to enjoy a meal and dessert together, or picking a date spot in Anseong to share with someone you love, I can confidently recommend giving Chat Baker a visit! The outdoor space is also well set up, making it a great option if you're searching for a dog-friendly café in Anseong. My family is already planning to come back for the next live jazz schedule!
