Bucheon steakhouse for an after-work date: ribeye at Macho Steak

What is Macho Steak Bucheon?

Macho Steak Bucheon (마초스테이크 부천점) is a steakhouse on the Hyundai Department Store restaurant street in Bucheon, over by City Hall Station. With summer coming, I've been feeling my stamina drop, so my boyfriend and I had an after-work date here.

A famous person who's been a huge hit as a YouTuber lately is the brand's ad model, so my boyfriend got curious and I tracked it down as a Bucheon date spot! Of the several branches, we went to the Bucheon one near City Hall Station, since it's the closest to our workplace.

Where to park near the Bucheon Hyundai Department Store restaurant street

Parking around the Hyundai Department Store restaurant street in Bucheon is tough, as anyone who's been will know. That's why I always park at Bucheon City Hall. There are also 2–3 public parking lots nearby you can use instead.

Atmosphere and seating at Macho Steak Bucheon

The interior is done in wood tones throughout. With both bar tables and regular tables, it looked fine for anyone from solo diners to big groups.

You order at a kiosk. Every menu item has a photo, so deciding was much easier.

Macho Steak menu and set price for two

Macho Steak Bucheon has a wide range, from set menus to mains and sides, and the drinks include highballs, draft beer, wine and even champagne, so you can pick by taste. I captured the menu board so you can see it all at once.

We ordered the Macho Double Beef Set (₩51,800), which comes with a ribeye steak + iron-plate beef bibimbap + 1 drink. If you're two big eaters, I'd suggest adding a side. We finished a little full (we're the type who normally order 3 dishes for 2 people... haha).

Each table has a guide to enjoying the steak. Macho Steak is cooked rare before it's served! We like medium-rare, so we cooked ours a little longer.

How was the iron-plate beef bibimbap?

The iron-plate beef bibimbap is simple, just sauce, meat and corn, but the flavor is nailed down. I was craving rice, so it was perfect for me. It comes with jalapeños too, which you can press in whenever it starts feeling rich.

Since it's served on an iron plate, it stays warm until the end of the meal. Eaten with the thin slices of beef, you get the rich flavor of the meat plus the popping texture of the corn, a perfect trio!

How tender is the ribeye steak at Macho Steak?

The ribeye came with rice, two kinds of sauce and onion pickles. Around the time it's served, you flip it and cook it once more with butter. This was my boyfriend's dish, since he loves meat. If you run short of accompaniments (other than the main), you can just ask.

As you'd expect from a Bucheon steak spot, the meat was tender, and one touch of the knife made it slice right through. It had no toughness, so I think kids and older folks could eat it without any trouble.

Medium-rare is my favorite doneness! I think meat chews most tenderly when it still has a bit of blood. It was good dunked in the sauce and good for tasting the plain flavor of the meat. Eating jalapeños and onion pickles between bites really freshened up my mouth.

Tips for eating the ribeye with the iron-plate bibimbap

The ribeye is great with my iron-plate beef bibimbap too... When you eat them together, I recommend skipping the dipping sauce. The rice is already seasoned, so adding sauce is a bit too much, I'd say? (Honestly, eating however you like is best^^)

Is Macho Steak Bucheon good for a date near Bucheon City Hall Station?

Finding a good place to eat near Bucheon City Hall Station is such a dilemma, but it's nice to try a hot spot at least once, right~? Plus, Macho Steak is a steak specialist, so the chance of a miss is low. No reason not to go, haha.
