Study café in Songdo, Incheon: crisp-chewy plain salt bread, Cozy Bear
In short
Cafe Cozy Bear Salt Bread Bakery Songdo Hagwonga Branch is a salt bread and coffee café on the Songdo academy street (hagwonga) in Yeonsu, Incheon. At Cozy Bear's big-windowed shop, the writer had an iced Americano (₩3,800), a Cozy Latte (₩5,000) and two plain salt breads (₩3,500 each); the nutty, non-acidic Americano paired well with the crisp-outside, chewy-inside salt bread and its properly hollow center. Cozy Bear is a handy salt bread café for a snack, a light meal or a laptop study session around the Songdo academy district.

I visited Cozy Bear, a Songdo, Incheon café and bakery that goes all in on salt bread! Let's get started!
Where is Cozy Bear in Songdo, Incheon, and what are its hours?
Cozy Bear is on the Songdo academy street (hagwonga-georí) in Yeonsu, so it's great for a quick takeout or a sit-down whether you're out on a date or just wandering around Songdo. It's 30 seconds from Songdo Sikjajae Mart, so I highly recommend a little salt bread outing after grocery shopping!
- Hours: 09:00–18:00 (closes when sold out)
- Bread out of the oven: 09:00 / 14:00
- Use a nearby public parking lot
- Dine-in / takeout

This Songdo academy-street café specializes in salt bread and coffee. It has a neat terrace too, so on a nice day like these it's lovely to have a coffee out there in the sunshine! And the cute bear holding a salt bread, just like the shop's name, is so adorable and pretty!

Cozy Bear seating and atmosphere for studying
Cozy Bear has 6 seats in total: two 2-person tables, two 4-person tables and 2 terrace seats. Once you walk in, the whole storefront is glass so it catches the sunlight, and even indoors it glows softly! The rule is baked and sold the same day, so there's a baking area behind the counter, and you can see right into it!

Cozy Bear salt bread flavors and prices
Cozy Bear's salt bread comes in 6 kinds: plain, ang-butter (sweet red bean and butter), garlic, potato, castella (sponge cake) and pollock roe. They don't skimp on ingredients, with French fermented butter, Guérande sea salt and premium flour, so maybe that's why it sells out fast! The prices are very good value for Songdo, so I was totally satisfied.

Coffee to go with the salt bread matters a lot too, right!? Cozy Bear has regular coffee, signature coffee, non-coffee drinks, ade and tea, and the prices are just right~ so it's easy to grab a drink on the go!
- Iced Americano ₩3,800
- Cozy Latte ₩5,000
- Plain salt bread ₩3,500 × 2
And that's my order done.

Right now Cozy Bear gives you one extra salt bread if you write a receipt review, so don't forget! Getting one more is awesome><!! Next to the counter, everything from the restroom password to the Wi-Fi password is written out neatly, so keep that in mind.

Watching the outside through the big windows while you wait feels so good~ haha. Then the drinks and bread came out and my mood went UP!! They put it neatly on a plate, and it looked so plump and crispy, is this real!?! haha

How do Cozy Bear's Americano and Cozy Latte taste?
Cozy Bear's iced Americano isn't strongly acidic and is full of nutty flavor, so it was the perfect match for salt bread! It's also great to sip while studying at a café. If you take a drink to go, it comes with a super cute bear paper cup cover~ haha, so it's almost a keepsake!! haha
In the Cozy Latte, the milk settles thick at the bottom, so stir it well with the straw before drinking for a richer, smoother milk-coffee taste. Personally I love vanilla lattes, and Cozy Bear says it uses handmade vanilla syrup, so next time I have to try the vanilla bean cream latte! haha

Cozy Bear plain salt bread: how crisp and chewy is it?
Now the main event of the day: Cozy Bear's plain salt bread! They give you tongs and scissors with a Pinterest-y vibe so you can cut it easily. The flour, butter and even the salt are all special, so they say it's delicious even after it cools! The salt wasn't just sprinkled in the middle either, it was spread evenly all over :)

When I split it in half with the scissors and tongs, it had a properly formed hollow inside, and it was so soft it's practically the textbook example of crisp outside, chewy inside! Maybe because it's French fermented butter, the flavor was a bit richer, and since the flour is premium, it sat well in my stomach.
Cozy Bear, the Songdo café and bakery, works as a light meal or a snack as you pass along the Songdo academy street! Recommended :)
