Why we chose Daecheon Brewery on our Boryeong overnight trip

Daecheon Brewery is a pizza pub in Boryeong, Chungnam, that runs its own brewery and makes craft beer on site. My husband and I have a little hobby of sharing a cold beer on weekends or in the evening. Recently we went to Boryeong with family, and I heard there was a genuine craft beer place with its own brewery, so I stopped by full of curiosity.

It's not just a bar. The space itself has so much charm that it deserves a spot on any list of things to do in Boryeong. I was excited even before we walked in, thinking this would be a place to taste proper local beer.

How far is Daecheon Brewery from Daecheon Beach?

It was about 10 minutes by car from our lodging near Daecheon Beach to Daecheon Brewery. We stayed one night near the beach, and the brewery turned out to be very close.

When we arrived, there was a pickup vehicle with a distinctive design parked out front, so I asked the owner about it. He said they run a pickup service for groups, so if you're planning a get-together, it's worth asking in advance. Even the access is a cut above, which made it easy to see how well it fits into a trip itinerary. The brewery already has a great reputation, so even the drive over was exciting.

From the outside, Daecheon Brewery already gave off the feel of an exotic beach resort,

and the inside was decorated even better than I expected.

In particular, the sand on the floor in the middle of the shop is prettily decorated with cold beer bottles and seashell-like props, so it really felt like drinking on the beach.

There were plenty of appealing seats, but we chose one around this sand display.

Bright yellow accents throughout the interior made it a perfect Daecheon hotspot. I could see why it's counted among the trendy places to visit in Boryeong.

Can you see the brewery from inside Daecheon Brewery?

Yes! Through a clear glass wall on one side of the shop, you can see the big brewing equipment where the beer is actually made. Wondering how good the craft beer made fresh on site every day would taste, my anticipation hit its peak.

It's not only about atmosphere; the place is serious about the taste too. With a sight like this, no wonder it has become a Daecheon hotspot people come to from afar.

On one side of the shop they also sell pretty bottled beer, good for gifts or keeping.

There was also a sweet deal running: complete a simple participation event and you get one of these bottled beers, so be sure to join in and take one home!

It's a great lineup for picking up offbeat Boryeong souvenirs for friends, and I felt it was a really worthwhile place to browse.

What we ordered after dinner at Daecheon Brewery: fries, nachos and pineapple slush

Daecheon Brewery is famous for its signature wood-fired pizza, fresh from the oven. But we had already eaten a hearty meal, so we ordered light things to go with drinks: fries, nachos, a pineapple slush and beer. Luckily they have a full lineup of non-alcoholic beers too, so we could enjoy the mood without worrying about driving. Totally lucky-vicky!

The freshly fried, hot and crispy snacks went perfectly with the cold drinks, and I became sure this Boryeong getaway was a success. It's a place you'd be happy with whenever you come.

Non-alcoholic beer and two recommended craft beers with family

I only filled my glass with non-alcoholic beer, but I was still floating, drunk on the romantic mood and hip atmosphere of Daecheon Brewery.

On the owner's recommendation, my husband drank two craft beers back to back. The flavor and aroma of each glass were clearly different, and he couldn't stop praising them, saying he wants to come back and try every other kind next time.

Daecheon Brewery let us fully enjoy this romantic moment with our loved ones and have a very satisfying time, so I recommend it happily. In scale and facilities, its charm clearly stood out from other bars in Boryeong.
