Baut is at 18 Dongbu-ro 26-gil, Dong-gu, Daegu (1st floor). It is open 10:00 - 20:00 and closed every Tuesday. Groups, takeout and delivery are all fine, and there is a dedicated parking lot next to the café.

Today I visited Baut, famous as a brunch café near Dongdaegu Station! It opens at 10am, so it's great for a late breakfast or brunch, and since it uses a whole three-floor building, it was spacious and comfortable! Let me show you around~

Baut's 1st-floor seating and private parking

The 1st floor of Baut has big picture windows, so it never felt stuffy, and there were tables for two, tables for four, and even seats for one!

There's also a parking lot right next to the shop, and I was told it's Baut's own, so you can park without worrying~

Baut's menu and what we ordered

You order at the counter, and the menu has photos, so it's easy to choose~ The two of us ordered a ciabatta sandwich, a focaccia sandwich, a matcha latte and a rooibos tea~ The prices weren't too expensive either, which was nice haha

Right next to the counter there were desserts too: chocolate cake, blueberry cheesecake and banana pudding~ They sell brunch, but I hear the coffee is delicious as well, so next time I should come for coffee and dessert 🫢👍

Is Baut's 2nd floor good for working or meetings?

After ordering, I headed up to the 2nd floor~ It was modern and neat like the 1st floor, and I liked that the tables are spaced widely. There are lots of windows here too, so the view outside felt like a framed picture haha And there's Wi-Fi on each floor, and it was really strong. It seems like many people come to work alone or hold meetings~

The 1st floor had drinking water and napkins~ And since we ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks, there were 2 trays, and the kind owner carried them upstairs with us!! So so kind 🥹🫶

How is Baut's ciabatta sandwich?

Ta-da~ This is our early-morning brunch!! The one in front is the focaccia sandwich and the one behind is the ciabatta sandwich! They were generously filled with vegetables, cheese, ham and more~ And the bread, maybe they bake it themselves, was warm, fluffy and so delicious!!

Baut's ciabatta sandwich had romaine, ham, cheese, tomato and blueberry jam, and thanks to the jam it felt like a sweet sandwich! But the bread itself is super fluffy and chewy, so even the ciabatta alone tasted nutty and so good haha And with so much filling inside, it was really filling!!

Is Baut's focaccia sandwich spicy?

Baut's focaccia sandwich had tomato pesto, red onion, salami, cheese and arugula~ And this one was a little spicy??!! Even better~ Like the ciabatta, the focaccia was crisp outside and moist inside, and the cheese inside was thick but not salty at all, nicely balanced with the other ingredients!!

Matcha latte and rooibos tea instead of coffee

Maybe because they whisk the matcha by hand, Baut's matcha latte had a lovely bitter matcha taste, and the warm rooibos tea I ordered was rich and fragrant, so good!! This time I couldn't drink coffee because I was coming down with a cold, but I hear the coffee is all delicious too, so I'll definitely try it next time haha

Why I recommend Baut as a Dongdaegu Station brunch café

I hear Baut is well known as a brunch café near Dongdaegu Station~ Sandwiches and soup were the main dishes, and there was a wide range of other things too, like coffee, tea, drinks and desserts, so you can pick what you like haha

Personally, since it's split over several floors, you can find a seat even when it's busy, and there are outlets here and there, so it's perfect for charging up or working! If you're looking for a café or brunch café near Dongdaegu Station, I highly recommend Baut, close to the station haha
