In short
MUG (카페 먹) is a large café in Ulju, Ulsan, with bakery selections, window seats, and an in-house gallery. I visited on a weekend for coffee and three breads; the tiramisu cinnamon roll stood out, and the spacious seating made it easy to relax.

I visited MUG (카페 먹), a large café in Eonyang, Ulsan. It had a spacious interior, varied seating, and a wide bakery selection, and I could also look around the exhibition inside. The outdoor view through the floor-to-ceiling windows and the tiramisu cinnamon roll were particularly memorable.

What kind of space is MUG?
At first, I simply thought it was a large café, but I learned that it is a cultural complex made using charred timber that survived a major wildfire on the site. Knowing that background made the atmosphere of the space feel even more striking.

As I entered, I felt that nature, architecture, and art came together in this space. There was also an outdoor water feature, which I thought would be nice to explore on a pleasant day.

Can you see an exhibition inside?
An exhibition was underway in the in-house gallery when I visited. The announced exhibition period was Sep 5–30, 2026. I could naturally look at the works while exploring the café, which gave me more to enjoy during coffee time.

What is the seating like? Is it suitable with children?
It was operating as a care kids zone. The space was large and the seating was varied, so I thought it would also be good for families. I heard that bubble events are held on weekends as well.

There were plenty of options, from table seating to more relaxed seats. Each area had a slightly different atmosphere, so it was fun choosing where to sit. I especially liked the area with large floor-to-ceiling windows: the open view outside made it a pleasant place to drink coffee while looking out.
What kinds of bakery items are available?
There were many options, from sweet desserts to savory breads, so it was enjoyable to browse the display before choosing. Salt bread, basil tomato bread, and pepperoni pizza bread were also available.

There were also croissants, almond croissants, white rolls, and injeolmi rolls.

I also noticed breads with distinct flavors, including long sausage bread and black sesame chestnut red bean bread.

There were mocha buns, sangtu cookies, marble cookies, and MUG pies. Their signature cinnamon rolls came in flavors including apple, blueberry, tiramisu, and lemon cream cheese.

There were also cheese mochi, turtle melon bread, pea paste bread, soboro bread, and black garlic baguettes.

For cakes, chestnut cheesecake and Lamington cake were available as well.

What were the coffee and breads I ordered like?
I chose an Americano and café latte with a tiramisu cinnamon roll, salt bread, and basil tomato bread. I was also curious about the signature MUG Black Latte and MUG Lemon Smoothie, but this time I ordered coffee to have with the breads.

The Americano was clean-tasting and went well with the breads. The café latte was smooth and nutty from the milk.

When can you have the tiramisu cinnamon roll?
The tiramisu cinnamon roll I had been looking forward to most combined a sweet cinnamon roll with tiramisu-like flavor. The cream was smooth and paired well with the bread, making it a good match for coffee.

At the time of my visit, I was told that it was available only on weekends and public holidays. We visited on a weekend, so we were able to try it.
What did the basil tomato bread and salt bread taste like?
The basil tomato bread was topped generously with olives. The combination of tomato, basil, and olives was fresh and sweeter than I expected.

The salt bread had the familiar taste of a basic salt bread. It was even better after warming it slightly in the microwave. I enjoyed all the breads I ordered, and they filled me up in place of a meal that day.
Where is MUG, and what about parking and hours?
The address is 90 Hyangsan-dagae-ro, Sangbuk-myeon, Ulju-gun, Ulsan, South Korea. There was a large dedicated parking lot. The hours recorded in the original post were 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily, with last orders at 7:30 PM.
It was a visit where I could relax in a spacious setting while looking out the window, choose breads, and then browse the exhibition. Of the many bakery items, the tiramisu cinnamon roll stayed with me most.
