Gumi brunch café with window views and waffles: Hands Coffee

I had brunch and pasta at Hands Coffee Gumi Goa-eup Branch, then enjoyed waffles and coffee. The large windows looking out onto nature and generously spaced seating caught my eye first, and of the dishes I tried, the paccheri cream pasta was my favorite.

Where is it, and is parking convenient?

The café is at 96 Wondae-ro in Goa-eup, Gumi. It is in a two-story building a little farther in from the route between Bonggok-dong and Wonho-dong. I felt it was in a convenient spot to reach from Bonggok-dong, Wonho-dong, and Munseong.

The parking lot was spacious, with plenty of room between spaces, so I parked comfortably. There were also accessible parking spaces.

What are the window views and seating like?

As I entered, the large windows offered an immediate view of nature. The seats faced the scenery and were spread far apart. The natural light was good too, and I thought any seat would be a pleasant place to spend time.

The high ceiling meant the second floor did not feel cramped. There is an elevator, which should make moving between floors easier for anyone who has trouble using stairs. The chairs on both floors were neat and comfortable.

Is it suitable for children or group gatherings?

There was reservable seating for up to eight people. It was a private space, and I thought I would like to use it for a meeting or gathering.

When I visited, I felt there were more guests with babies than at other cafés. There were spacious restrooms, a baby room, and a microwave, and a special event for pregnant women was also being advertised. Seeing these facilities made me think it would be a comfortable space for families with young children.

What is on the menu, and how much does it cost?

There was a broad menu of desserts as well as waffles, brunch dishes, and pasta. I could choose the coffee bean type, and there were teas and various other drinks too.

At the time of the original post, waffles were ₩13,300–₩20,300, while brunch dishes were ₩11,800–₩17,300. There were two pasta options: shrimp tomato and paccheri cream. Here is what I ordered and paid:

• Hands House Brunch: ₩17,300
• Paccheri Cream Pasta: ₩15,800
• Blueberry Cream Cheese Waffle: ₩16,800

There were also packaged drip coffee concentrate sets and goods such as tumblers and cups. I thought they would be nice to look over as gifts.

How were the brunch and pasta I tried?

Both the brunch and pasta were more delicious than I expected. I also liked being able to have a meal and dessert together at a café.

What came with the Hands House Brunch?

It came with moist, soft bread, scrambled eggs, salad, and sausage. I poured the balsamic oil dressing served alongside over the salad, and it tasted fresh and clean.

The sausage was not too salty for my taste and had a clean flavor. I liked its snappy bite, and it went well with the bread, eggs, and salad.

Why did the paccheri cream pasta stand out most?

The paccheri cream pasta was my favorite of everything I ate. The flat, round pasta had a chewy texture that I enjoyed.

The cream sauce was smooth with a slight spiciness that cut through the richness. It went well not only with the pasta but also with the bread bowl, which had soaked up plenty of sauce, and I dipped the remaining bread into the sauce too. I would like to come back for this dish.

Did the blueberry cream cheese waffle go well with coffee?

Lastly, I had the blueberry cream cheese waffle. Compared with when I had visited before, I felt the waffle selection had grown and the presentation had changed too.

The waffle was crisp outside and moist inside. I liked the combination of soft cream, cold ice cream, and blueberries that were not frozen. As a sweet dessert, it also went well with coffee.

I finished all the food I ordered. I enjoyed everything from the meal to dessert while looking out at the scenery through the large windows, and the spacious seating and family facilities also stayed with me.
