Gumi family café with floor seating and brunch: Hands Coffee

In short

Hands Coffee Gumi Goa-eup Branch is a two-story café on Wondae-ro in Gumi, with parking in front, a floor-seating care kids zone on the first floor, and a lawn outside. I had Brunch Set C with a soft jambon-beurre and chicken granola salad; both were soft and more filling than I expected. The separated floor-seating area and lawn are worth considering when visiting with children.

Where is it, and is parking convenient?

Hands Coffee Gumi Goa-eup Branch hours information

There was a large parking area in front of the café, so it was easy to visit by car. A large HANDS COFFEE sign hung on the exterior, and the café occupied the first and second floors.

What is the space like for visiting with children?

The first floor felt bright, with natural light coming through large windows and green scenery outside. There were sofa seats and regular tables to choose from, and I sat on the first floor to enjoy the view.

First-floor café seating with large windows and green scenery

The first floor had a floor-seating care kids zone separated from the regular tables. As an independent space, it seemed convenient for spending time with children.

There was also a door from the first floor leading outside. A notice said visitors could step on the lawn, so I thought children could spend time moving around outdoors.

Which floor is better for sitting with a group?

From the second floor, I could look down at the green scenery, which gave it an open feel. The wood interior felt warm, and the space was wide and neat.

Second-floor café seating with wood interior

There were many group tables, so the second floor was worth considering for a gathering. If you are with children, look at the first-floor care kids zone first; for a larger group, check the second floor.

What kinds of brunch and desserts are available?

The brunch menu included jambon-beurre, sandwiches, salads, and soup.

There were also brunch sets for trying several items together. I visited around 11:30 a.m. and chose Set C for an early lunch.

There were waffles served with toppings and ice cream, too.

Besides coffee, the drinks included fresh fruit beverages and tea, and ice cream was available as well.

The display case held cakes, egg tarts, and cookies. It also seemed like a good place to stop for coffee and dessert rather than a meal.

How was the brunch Set C I tried?

Set C came with a soft jambon-beurre and chicken granola salad. I also ordered fresh fruit kiwi juice.

For an extra ₩500, I could have changed it to a jalapeño jambon-beurre, but I had the soft jambon-beurre without making the change.

Soft jambon-beurre ordered for brunch

The jambon-beurre had moist, soft bread. It was generously filled with ham, while the nutty butter and arugula kept it from feeling too rich. I had it for brunch, but it was more filling than I expected.

The chicken granola salad was topped with crisp toasted bread, greens, tomatoes, bell peppers, granola, and chicken breast. Mixed together, it paired well with the refreshing yuja dressing. The chicken breast was soft and each ingredient had a different texture, so I finished the whole bowl.

The fresh fruit kiwi juice was tangy and sweet. It also went well with the jambon-beurre and salad.

How were the egg tarts I took out?

I kept thinking about the egg tarts I had seen in the display case, so I took two out before going home.

When I tried them at home, the outside was crisp and the filling was tasty. I thought they tasted better on the day of purchase, so I would recommend eating them that day if you take them out.

Can you browse coffee goods and beans?

Near the counter, there were merchandise items such as drip bags and cups. The drip bags seemed suitable for enjoying coffee at home or giving to someone as a gift.

There was also a space where I could read descriptions of the coffee beans and smell their aromas. It would be useful when deciding which beans to choose. I had kiwi juice this time, but I would like to try hand-drip coffee next time.
