Goyang Chinese restaurant with free rice refills: Jjamppong Jijeon

Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch is a Chinese restaurant on Seooreung-ro in Goyang, Gyeonggi. I used its spacious parking lot and unlimited rice self-service bar, then tried fried dumplings, jjajangmyeon, sweet potato glutinous tangsuyuk, and rich, spicy jjamppong. Verdict: Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch is a comfortable, delicious place I would revisit at my own expense.

Suwon café for avocado smoothies after a fortress walk: Caffeine Focus

Caffeine Focus is a café in Suwon, Gyeonggi, near the walls of Hwaseong Fortress. I tried an avocado smoothie and vanilla bean Basque cheesecake, then relaxed by the fortress from its terrace and third-floor windows. A place I’d happily revisit for a date before or after a fortress walk.
