Date-night Korean pub in Bangi-dong with seafood ramyeon: Ilwolui Bam
In short
Ilwolui Bam (일월의밤) is a Korean pub with a cozy pojangmacha (street tent bar) feel, on the second floor of a building in the Bangi-dong food alley in Songpa, Seoul. On a dinner date, the writer and her boyfriend ordered corn cheese jeon (savory pancake), Jikoba chibap (chicken with rice) and seafood ramyeon, with a 500cc draft beer and a Zero Pepsi. Under low, soft lighting, Ilwolui Bam is a good Bangi-dong date-night pub for corn cheese jeon with beer and seafood ramyeon to finish.

Why I picked Ilwolui Bam (일월의밤), a date-night pub in Bangi food alley
Ilwolui Bam is a Korean pub on the second floor of a building in the Bangi food alley, 482m from Exit 2 of Songpanaru Station. It's open every day from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m. There's no private parking lot, so use a paid lot nearby.

These days when I make evening plans with my boyfriend, we naturally end up in Bangi.

There are so many places in the food alley that I agonized over where to go, and this time I picked Ilwolui Bam. 🌙
What's the atmosphere at Ilwolui Bam like?
Inside, it feels like something right between a cozy pojangmacha (street tent bar) and a Korean pub. The lighting is low and soft, and the tables are close together, so it was great for a quiet, intimate chat for two.

It's on the second floor, and the mood already feels different the moment you climb the stairs.

🪔 As for the mood, the lighting is low and soft, just right for coming at night.

The tables aren't spaced widely, so it's snug, but that actually made it nice for talking just the two of us. It's like a cozy pojangmacha plus a Korean pub, somewhere right in between.
What are the signature dishes at Ilwolui Bam?
If you look up Ilwolui Bam reviews for the Bangi food alley, the dish you see most is the corn cheese jeon (Korean savory pancake). Rich, melted corn cheese piled on a golden-grilled pancake grabs your eyes from the first look.
The seafood ramyeon is also a regular favorite. It's the one people order when they're craving a spicy, piping-hot broth.
What I ordered that day

- Corn cheese jeon
- Jikoba chibap (Jikoba-style chicken rice)
- Seafood ramyeon
- Zero Pepsi
- 500cc draft beer
Ilwolui Bam's 500cc draft beer and Zero Pepsi

The 500cc draft beer and the Zero Pepsi both came out nicely cold. Take a sip between bites and it goes down cool at exactly the right moment.

It paired perfectly with the corn cheese jeon. The foam ratio was right too, so it never went flat, down to the last sip. 🍻
How is the Jikoba chibap at Ilwolui Bam?

🐔 The Jikoba chibap had quite thick pieces of chicken, so it felt hearty. Jikoba-style chicken rice is usually built on a sweet seasoned sauce, but what stood out here was how generous the chicken was.

The sauce soaks evenly into the rice underneath, so if you mix it up, you won't get tired of it to the very end.

My boyfriend polished off almost a whole bowl by himself 😄
Is the corn cheese jeon at Ilwolui Bam good with beer?
🌽 The corn cheese jeon was crispy outside with stretchy cheese, a proper beer snack. It really came out well. The surface was grilled crisp, and when you take a bite, the corn and cheese pull up together in one long stretch.

The salty, savory cheese flavor spreads through your mouth, and it makes you want beer rather than makgeolli (rice wine). 🍺
Even when the jeon cooled down, the cheese didn't harden and stayed moist for quite a while.
Is the seafood ramyeon at Ilwolui Bam a good way to end a night of drinking?
🌊 The seafood ramyeon that came out last had a broth better than I expected.

The seafood aroma comes up strong, but it isn't harsh; the flavor is deep and refreshing, just right for eating late in a drinking session.

It's the kind of dish where you eat fast before the noodles get soggy.

We nearly finished the broth too.
Who I'd recommend Ilwolui Bam to

- Couples looking for a pub with atmosphere in Bangi
- People who want a drinking session with properly good food
- People who want to relax over a drink late at night
Ilwolui Bam, the cozy pub I found in the Bangi food alley 🌙 The corn cheese jeon was crispy outside and moist inside with stretchy cheese, truly the best beer snack, and the seafood ramyeon had a spicy yet deep broth that was perfect for ending the night. The Jikoba chibap is tasty too when you mix it, since the sauce soaks down through the rice. The mood is soft and lovely, so I highly recommend it for a date 🍺
