LOOOP Bakery is a vegan and protein dessert café on Yeonmujang-gil in Seongsu-dong. The sun was so, so good that day haha — I'd had a nice meal in Seongsu and dropped by afterward. I'd also done Pilates that morning, so my craving and need for protein was huge, and LOOOP Bakery turned out to be a great spot to fill up on both carbs and protein at once~~~~

A spacious, bright white interior in a quiet alley

The inside of LOOOP Bakery is spacious and bright, all in white tones. It's on the hot Yeonmujang-gil strip but tucked slightly into an alley, so it's quiet and calm rather than crowded — a stylish café with a relaxed vibe that was also great for chatting.

What desserts are in the LOOOP Bakery showcase?

The LOOOP Bakery showcase is packed with fresh fruit cakes and fruit-shaped desserts. There were some incredibly cute fruit-shaped desserts — how do you even eat that? They're so pretty haha.

What caught my eye was the halmi gateau (할미갸또, "grandma gateau") haha. I love mugwort and black sesame desserts, so I have a total grandma's palate, and the name is literally "grandma gateau" haha, so cute haha. There's also cheesecake, matcha cake, and plenty of delicious desserts.

The salt bread and croissant corner

One whole section of LOOOP Bakery is filled with salt bread, croissants, and baked pastries.

The little bear bread is so cute, ugh haha, it even has bangs.

There are also super cute ribbon croissants, palmiers, and all kinds of salt bread and cookies — LOOOP Bakery really has everything, a true dessert hotspot.

I love canelés, so I picked an Earl Grey canelé, and right next to it were some delicious-looking egg tarts.

A 16g-protein vegan matcha brownie — good post-workout dessert?

LOOOP Bakery's vegan matcha protein brownie reportedly has 16g of protein. That's the same as three boiled eggs haha. Wow, with flour and protein both in it, isn't this basically the perfect post-gym dessert? A cup of Americano plus a bite of this brownie sounds like a really solid refuel.

LOOOP Bakery stands out for its wide drink menu, and it seems they're quite serious about their coffee beans. They also brew filter coffee.

The bean selection is so varied that coffee lovers must be thrilled. You can choose beans of different origins and aromas and have them brewed as filter coffee.

How was the latte and the nutty Americano?

What surprised me at LOOOP Bakery was that the coffee was so, so good!!!! Honestly I figured it was a dessert-famous spot and didn't expect much from the coffee, but the latte had beautiful latte art and the flavor was outstanding too, and I picked nutty beans for my Americano, which had really great flavor!!! The latte especially was so good haha. If you're a coffee person, I strongly recommend LOOOP Bakery.

Tasting the Earl Grey canelé and mugwort brownie

The desserts I picked were the Earl Grey canelé and the mugwort brownie.

LOOOP Bakery's Earl Grey canelé is full of lovely Earl Grey aroma, with a shell that's just crisp enough and a moist inside — a really delicious canelé. Pairing it with coffee was the icing on the cake.

The mugwort brownie I ordered haha — it's studded with chickpeas inside, giving it a nice, satisfying bean-chewing texture. It was a heavy, moist kind of brownie, and again, it paired really well with coffee.
