The weather's so nice these days. Do you all go on drives, on weekends or weekdays? Today I'm telling you about a perfect drive stop around Pyeongtaek and Anseong: Chat Baker, a bakery café near Farmland!

Where is Chat Baker in Anseong, and is parking easy?
Chat Baker is in Gongdo-eup, Anseong, right near Anseong Farmland and Starfield Anseong. Lots of people head to Farmland or Starfield with kids or a partner on weekends these days, right? Chat Baker sits right around there, so it's really easy to get to.
Nothing is more annoying than parking stress when you pick a café, but Chat Baker has a very large, convenient parking lot, so even beginner drivers can visit without worry.

Live jazz at Chat Baker
Chat Baker sometimes hosts live jazz. On the day I visited, a poster announced a live jazz show by The Horns on Saturday, July 4. If you like live music, you can enjoy some culture close to Pyeongtaek and Anseong, so go check it out!
What are Chat Baker's 1st and 2nd floors like?
Chat Baker is a large, open two-floor café. The whole building is floor-to-ceiling windows, so a cool, green view spreads out beyond the glass. The space feels open and not stuffy at all.
1st floor: counter, open bar and bread display

On the 1st floor of Chat Baker are the counter, an open bar where the coffee is brewed, and a lavish display of freshly baked bread.

You get the nutty coffee aroma and the smell of bread up close, and the atmosphere is cozy yet lively, which is its charm.
2nd floor: roomy seating and big window views
The 2nd floor of Chat Baker stands out for seating that's much more spread out than downstairs. You get full openness and can really enjoy the window views. The tables are spaced widely, so it felt perfect for chatting comfortably without being disturbed, or for reading quietly and staying a long time.
Which breads should you pick at Chat Baker?

The biggest draw of Chat Baker is, above all, the fresh, varied bread baked in the shop every morning. There's a wide variety and it tastes good.

There were so many gorgeous breads that, as a bread lover, I went wide-eyed and was lost in happy indecision for a good while.

When you come to Chat Baker, you must put the pizza-bread types like the sausage bread and the signature salt bread line on your tray!
Can you buy butter rice cake at Chat Baker?

Yes! Browsing the shelves at Chat Baker, I found the red-hot butter rice cake (butter tteok) on sale. I failed every time to get the once-huge Dubai chewy cookie because it was like catching a star from the sky, so being able to buy a trendy, tasty butter rice cake relatively easily at Chat Baker was a big plus.

Weekday afternoon or weekend: when to visit Chat Baker
If you want a relaxed, quiet atmosphere, first pick of the signature breads and plenty of photo-taking, I strongly recommend a weekday afternoon. But office workers only have weekends, right? Weekends can be a bit crowded with a possible wait, but the lively mood is still worth the trip, so don't hesitate to stop by.
What drinks and brunch does Chat Baker serve?
The Chat Baker menu runs from basics like americano and latte to non-coffee drinks, fresh ades and sweet smoothies. There's a wide range so anyone, young or old, can enjoy it.

There were also brunch menu photos posted on one side of the shop. Pasta and sandwiches looked so good that I thought I should come back early on a weekend morning for brunch. If you plan to order brunch, it's worth checking the menu photos before you go.

Chat Baker review event: free salt bread or coaster
By the way, at the time of my visit Chat Baker was running an event for Instagram uploads or Naver receipt reviews! If you show your review, you can get either a nutty salt bread baked in the shop that day or a cute cup coaster as a gift, so don't miss a perk like this!
What we ordered at Chat Baker
- Drinks: café latte, grapefruit ade
- Bakery: salt bread, red bean butter salt bread, Shanghai butter rice cake, sausage bread
We wanted to taste a bit of everything, so we ordered a generous mix of Chat Baker's best items and drinks.
Café latte and grapefruit ade

Chat Baker's café latte and grapefruit ade were a perfect match for the sweet, nutty baked goods. The latte, with smooth, hefty espresso and nutty milk, lifted the butter flavor of the bread even more. The refreshing grapefruit ade had a sharp fizz and bittersweet bits of grapefruit pulp that cleaned up my palate.

Since it's near Anseong Farmland, there were a lot of families with kids. For children who can't drink coffee, a grapefruit ade or a non-coffee drink with tasty bread would surely be a hit.
Salt bread and red bean butter salt bread

Chat Baker's signature salt bread has a thin, crisp outside that isn't tough, and the inside is super moist and soft.

As you chew, the rich flavor of gourmet butter flowing from the hollow in the middle fills your mouth, and the saltiness of the salt sprinkled on top brings out the savory depth.
The red bean butter salt bread, generously sandwiched with sweet, smooth red bean paste and thick, luxurious butter, was the textbook sweet-and-salty combo.
Sausage bread and Shanghai butter rice cake

I picked the Chat Baker sausage bread as a meal substitute. It's a hearty, tasty pizza bread with a plump, juicy sausage that snaps when you bite it, topped with plenty of savory sauce and cheese, so kids and adults with kid-like tastes can both devour it without any fuss.

The Shanghai butter rice cake, everyone's favorite right now, had a really unique, appealing texture. The inside is chewy like glutinous rice and full of soft butter aroma, so chewing it was a lot of fun. If you like fusion desserts, it'll definitely hit your taste.
Who is Chat Baker in Anseong best for?
After a nice time with your loved ones around Pyeongtaek and Anseong, at Anseong Farmland or Starfield, why not go heal at Chat Baker, where nutty salt bread and cool drinks are waiting?
If you love bread and coffee, I recommend dropping by on your bakery tour route!
