The first thing that surprised me when I walked in was how many Helsinki lattes were being ordered. Right as I was about to order, a group order came in for more than ten Helsinki lattes alone, and I was a little stunned.

Yeoksam is full of companies, so the competition for coffee orders is fierce, right? Office workers nearby often drink one or two coffees a day, so bad places get weeded out naturally. Seeing orders keep coming in like this, I thought, this really must be a latte place. It felt like the item hadn't become popular for nothing.

What is the atmosphere like?

The furniture is mostly black, so the whole place feels calm, and it was comfortable for a bit of laptop work or a chat.

What does the Helsinki latte taste like? 🥛

Mini Male's Helsinki latte doesn't push sweetness artificially; the nutty richness of the milk and the coffee flavor blend naturally. The Helsinki latte was the first thing I drank, and while it feels similar to the signature lattes other cafés sell these days, the taste was a little different.

If you were expecting a sweet latte it might be a bit unexpected, but the nuttiness grows the more you drink, so it's easy to enjoy without feeling heavy, and the coffee aroma stays subtly alive, so the balance between sweetness and coffee is really well done.

British Einspänner: is the cream too heavy? ☁️

Mini Male's British Einspänner (coffee topped with whipped cream) comes piled with British fresh cream, but the cream wasn't heavy or greasy at all; it was really smooth. As a popular item, it scored high on satisfaction.

I first tasted just the cream, then drank it with the coffee, and the sweetness and the bittersweet coffee flowed together naturally.

The fresh cream isn't overly sweet, so I never got tired of it to the end, and it works nicely as a dessert too.

Judging Mini Male by its basic café latte

The café latte at Mini Male Coffee Roaster Yeoksam Branch tastes like the Helsinki latte with a little of the sweetness taken out, and it was still strongly nutty. I think the more famous a café's signature drinks are, the more its basic menu shows its real skill.

A little less sweet than the Helsinki latte, but the nutty flavor is still strong!

The rich espresso flavor stays alive while blending naturally with the milk, so the balance was good. The bitterness isn't strong and it finishes clean, making it a latte anyone can drink comfortably. I could see why latte lovers keep coming back.

Does the Original Levain New York cookie go well with coffee?

I didn't want to drink just coffee, so I also ordered the Original Levain New York cookie, and it's delicious too... Slightly crisp outside and moist inside, it went really well with coffee. It isn't too sweet, so it was nice with the Helsinki latte or café latte, and it was satisfying enough as a simple dessert.

The levain cookie is packed with nuts and chocolate chips and is quite hefty, so one cookie with one cup of coffee feels like a filling snack..!!? Officially a bakery worth visiting!

Is Mini Male Coffee Roaster Yeoksam Branch worth going back to?

Yeoksam has a lot of cafés, but if you love lattes, I think Mini Male Coffee Roaster Yeoksam Branch is worth visiting at least once. After drinking it myself, I understood why the Helsinki latte is the signature, and the British Einspänner and basic café latte were both delicious too! Even more recommended for coffee connoisseurs!! bb

Above all, seeing the steady orders from nearby office workers gave me the impression of a café recognized for its taste. Coffee that office workers drink every day gets judged coldly, so seeing customers keep coming even after lunchtime naturally built my trust. The atmosphere is calm and tidy, good for a short break, and with coffee I was happy with, it's a place I'd like to revisit.
