Sejong sushi restaurant lunch special: ₩13,000 sushi with soba

I had to grab a quick lunch in Sodam-dong and was wondering what to eat nearby when I spotted Sushi Resto. They happened to have a lunch special sushi set, so I decided on the spot!

Where Sushi Resto Sejong Sodam is and where to park

Sushi Resto is on the 2nd floor of the Hyundai Motor building in Sodam-dong. Just park in the underground lot and take the elevator up — that's it!

If you're not familiar with the building it can be a little confusing, so just remember: the Hyundai Motor building. Parking is free for 2 hours too, so you've got plenty of time to eat lunch and head out.

Inside Sushi Resto Sejong Sodam and the lunchtime wait

Once you go up to the 2nd floor, the storefront itself already has a pretty stylish feel. There's a menu posted at the entrance too, which is nice because you can check it before going in.

There's also a separate waiting area, so even if the place gets crowded at lunch you can sit while you wait. When we went there were almost no empty seats. Guess everyone comes for sushi at lunchtime, haha.

One thing that caught my eye right when we walked in — there's a separate kiosk just for takeout orders. Keeping the flow separate for dine-in and takeout customers felt like a smart touch.

They're also running a Naver receipt review event! And a draft beer 1+1 promotion, so it seems like a good spot to come back for a drink in the evening too.

(The table next to us was drinking beer too. If we weren't driving, we would've been gulping it down as well, ㅠㅠ)

What the ₩13,000 lunch special sushi includes

We all went with the lunch special sushi without a second thought. It's ₩13,000 per person. Given how sushi prices are these days, that's pretty good value. And it's not just sushi for ₩13,000 — you also get salad and soba, so it makes for a full lunch.

The salad and your soba or udon choice

Everyone gets one salad included by default. And you can choose between soba (buckwheat noodles) and udon — since it was the middle of summer, we all went with soba. Starting with a cold bowl of soba really woke up the appetite. It wasn't just a side dish either — the quality was good enough that it could stand on its own as a dish.

What's on the sushi plate

It looked pretty appetizing just from the color alone. There were several kinds packed onto one plate, and I thought — will this be enough? But maybe that's the trap of sushi. It looks a little sparse before you start, but once you eat piece by piece, you end up completely full. We walked out saying we felt like we were going to burst.

Visiting with kids: ordering sushi without wasabi

So this is the full set. 👶 A note for anyone visiting with kids — when ordering sushi, you can choose to have it without wasabi. So if you're visiting with a child, just order it wasabi-free. Having that option is genuinely convenient when eating as a family.

Tips for a lunchtime visit in Sodam-dong

This was a really rushed lunch stop, but the set turned out to be better than expected, and we left satisfied. For ₩13,000, you get sushi, salad, and soba all in one lunch special, so it's a solid choice if you're stuck deciding what to eat in Sodam-dong. It does get crowded at lunchtime though, so if you want to eat without the crowds, going a bit earlier might be a good idea.

By the time we finished and left, a wave of customers had cleared out and the place felt quiet, but before that it was packed the whole time. A delicious sushi spread we completely wiped out.

There's also a room seating area toward the back of the restaurant. If you want a quiet meal or you're visiting as a bigger group, like a family gathering, using the room could be a good option. Room availability can vary, so if you need one, I'd recommend booking ahead!!!

Free parking for 2 hours also made this an easy place to visit by car :)

Totally recommend it! Next time I'll have to try it as a delivery lunch box for our team.
