Why stop at Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu on a Seongsan Ilchulbong trip

Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu (성산서비우동돈까스) is a 2–3 minute walk from Boryong Bakery in Seongsan, so I dropped in for lunch while traveling around east Jeju. I walked the free-entry route at Seongsan Ilchulbong, saw the haenyeo (women divers) house, and looked at Udo island through a telescope. I also wanted to visit Boryong Bakery, the hot spot in Seongsan these days since Yuri filmed there for I Live Alone, but it happened to be closed that day... T_T So I only made it to Jeil Seongsimdang across the street.

Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu is known as a good restaurant near Aquaplanet and is only 2–3 minutes on foot from Boryong Bakery, so I went for lunch while I was there!! Let me give you the conclusion first: the owner makes everything deliciously, from Japanese bukkake udon to tempura and donkatsu, and one bite of the tempura and the inari sushi had me giving a thumbs up haha.

Where to park for Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu

There was room for one car in front of the restaurant~~ It's in the Seongsan town area, though, and there are lots of public car parks nearby, so parking beforehand and walking over was easier haha.

We went for brunch right at the 11am opening, and one family had already arrived~~ That tells you it's a great donkatsu place in Seongsan, Jeju to come to with kids ❤️

What we ordered at Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu

We ordered the signature best-seller, the fresh loin donkatsu, as a set meal, and the signature bukkake cold udon too!! I wanted the tempura and inari sushi (tofu-pouch rice) with the cold udon, so I ordered it as a set, and I'd say get the set no matter what~~ The tempura and inari sushi are crazy good ^^ I also wanted some rice, so I went ahead and ordered the bulgogi curry rice bowl as well.

A Seongsan restaurant full of figures kids will love

Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu has so many figures that kids' eyes will go wide haha. I love One Piece and Crayon Shin-chan, so I went to look around before the food arrived!!

Water, side dishes and small plates are self-serve, so use the water dispenser and the self-serve bar.

Can you bring a dog to Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu?

Dogs are allowed if you have a dedicated cage, carrier or dog stroller. We were out for a walk with our dog, so we put it in a carrier and went in together. Note that carriers and strollers can't be left open!! Please keep good pet manners ^^

You can tell the restaurant takes food seriously from the open kitchen. You can watch the cooking right from your table, so you feel you can trust what you're eating.

Soon the food we ordered all came out at once!! Wow, what a spread!!

Fresh pork loin donkatsu set with mini udon

The fresh loin donkatsu set comes with mini udon, salad and rice. The cutlet arrives pre-sliced, and when ordering you can tick sauce on the side, but my husband is a pour-the-sauce-on person, so we ordered it that way! Salad and rice came with it too haha.

The thick fresh loin donkatsu is tasty, and the mini udon comes in a bigger bowl than at other places, so the portion is generous and filling.

Bulgogi curry rice bowl: break the poached egg and mix

The bulgogi curry rice bowl at Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu was delicious, Japanese-style curry~~ Especially when I popped the poached egg on top of the rice and mixed it into the curry sauce, it was slightly spicy and the flavor was incredible!

Bukkake cold udon set: what comes with it and how it tastes

Bukkake udon is my favorite!! I never thought I'd get to eat it at Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu, a well-known restaurant near Seongsan Ilchulbong in Jeju~~

When you order the bukkake cold udon as a set, it comes with five kinds of tempura and a good-sized inari sushi haha.

I thought it was a tokkuri (sake flask), but it held the bukkake cold udon sauce. The staff kindly explained that the sauce can be salty, so add it a little at a time and taste as you go haha.

For me the noodles are the life of bukkake udon!! The owner of Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu seems really serious about the noodles in the cold udon haha. They're beyond chewy, more like springy-dense, and I was surprised at how good they were~~

Crispy tempura and inari sushi with tempura crumbs

The shrimp, king oyster mushroom and chili pepper tempura in the set were really good!! The batter at Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu is special, and you'll be amazed at how crispy it is with the first bite.

Inside the inari sushi there are what I think are tempura crumbs, crispy bits of batter, which add a crunch to the inari sushi and made it so much better 👍🏻 I truly found the inari sushi of my life at Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu haha.
